First I've ever heard a Catholic referred to as a fundie.
That was always reserved for us independent Baptists.

I haven't read the article, just your comment, so I assumed you were denegrating the author for your support of Catholics.
If I'm confused, I'll listen.

Personally, I find this humorous.
Not saying I agree with it. But still, IMO its funny.
Somebody had to knew where the money was coming from...."Brother Hubert! Can you explain these deposits to the Council!"...heh heh heh.

I’m not Catholic, but can you explain your comment #1?
If you really meant to call the Catholic Church the whore of rome, I’m hitting abuse.
Or you can do it yourself.

Any relation to the “Lawyer’s Whore”?
(Some may call that is a bit redundant).
Look for my upcoming title, “Lawyer’s Whore Does Rome, Constantinople and Geneva, aka Rochelle Rochelle, A Young Girl’s Erotic Journey from Moscow to Minsk.”
To: Larry Lucido; buccaneer81
Thank you for that, Larry. By pointing out that insults help no-one you help us Catholic posters realize that not all our non-Catholic brethren are "burn 'em Caflix" -- we can debate and argue civilly and further the work of Our Lord
This article points out how the bishops got greedy and allowed Weltbild in 1998 (actually the question of how much actual control the bishop's have is unanswered) to merge with other publishing houses that sold such magazines
Was this stupid of the bishops? Yes. What the heck is a religious publishing house doing getting involved in mergers? And if it got involved in a "merger" doesn't that mean that the stock and ownership was diluted?
too many questions

The story speaks for itself. Since my religious affiliation is being requested (for some sort of counter attack I presume), I'll humor y'all with it. I am a Fundie (of sorts)! I try to stick to the Bible and do not belong to any particular denomination. My ancestry is Anabaptist on my father's side and Separatist on my mother's. The Catholic church killed many of my saintly ancestors and actively persecuted many of the rest for their adherence to biblical teachings as they perceived them and their refusal to recant the truth they believed.
In answer to your question: I was just joking Larry, don't "abuse" me. The Catholic "universal" church which killed my Christ following ancestors down through the ages should not be confused with the Great Whore of Rome that counterfeit church that is drunk on the blood of the saints down through the ages. Obviously that must refer to some other large church organization based in Rome, but I can see how you could make the mistake. ;)
On a side note I led my son in a prayer for Christ's salvation on what is now yesterday. And he is now praying for the soul of his toddler brother, and Kindergarten classmates.

The publisher's website also pictures the titles' lascivious dust jackets that feature colour photographs of scantily clad women in high heels and erotic underwear. So does Victoria Secret...

The Fox story links to The Independent where this comment appeared:
“But Bernhard Müller, editor of the Catholic magazine PUR, dismissed the clerics’ reaction as grossly hypocritical. He alleged that the pornography scandal at Weltbild had been going on for at least a decade with the Church's full knowledge. Mr Müller said that in 2008, a group of concerned Catholics had sent bishops a 70-page document containing irrefutable evidence that Weltbild published books that promoted pornography, Satanism and magic. They demanded that the publisher withdraw the titles.”
Is there a pattern here?

“killed many of my saintly ancestors and actively persecuted “ — so too did Lutherans and Calvinists. And, how many of your “ancestors” believed in Unitarian etc. views as they progressed?
