First Presbyterian gay ordination since rule change

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) plans to ordain the first openly gay candidate for ordination since the denomination struck down barriers this year to clergy who have same-gender partners.

Scott Anderson will be ordained as a teaching elder on Oct. 8 at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Madison.

The new policy won approval from a majority of the denomination's 173 presbyteries, or regional church bodies, and took effect on July 10.

The denomination eliminated language in the church constitution requiring that clergy live "in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, or chastity in singleness." The new provision instead requires ministers to "submit joyfully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life."

This seems to be funded by some "Covenant Network" -- does anyone know who is behind this gayrights group?

And I've never heard anything so meaningless as The new provision instead requires ministers to "submit joyfully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life."

My next door neighbor is a Presbyterian minister. Took hi years to get ordained because he was too conservative. I can’t figure that one out.

I can’t figure out why he would still stay if they do not want conservatives? They have embraced the pink movement utterly

The Catholic Church is under fire for not wanting to adopt out or place foster kids in the hands of perverts.
They are under fire for not wanting to perform a marriage ceremony for two people of th same sex.
Catholic Doctors and Nurses are under fire for not wanting to perform abortions.
Catholic Pharmacists are under fire for not wanting to provide abortion drugs.
They are under fire from Lesbian Nuns who want to be Priests.

So far they are holding out pretty well.

On the down side they have been infiltrated by pedophiles who see the Priesthood as easy pickings. They have weeded out many but they cannot deny their history of having hidden the fact that it was going on, and they have to know that problem still exists.
They are shoving illegals at us to fill the pews and it is taking money from parish’s to pay off the law suits.

I will stick as long as they do, but it is apparent that Government is against any religion that does not conform.

The separation of Church and State has become an act of the Government trying to make Church’s conform. Freedom of Religion is taking a beating right now.

So this “church,” in fulfillment of prophesy, rather than remaining the bride of Christ becomes the whore of Satan.

Why promote something you dont want to see? This is my first question to all?

GOD WILL HANDLE ALL THINGS!!

LUKE 6:27-36
27 ‘But I say this to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly.
29 To anyone who slaps you on one cheek, present the other cheek as well; to anyone who takes your cloak from you, do not refuse your tunic.
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your property back from someone who takes it.
31 Treat others as you would like people to treat you.
32 If you love those who love you, what credit can you expect? Even sinners love those who love them.
33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit can you expect? For even sinners do that much.
34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to get money back, what credit can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount.
35 Instead, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
36 ‘Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.

Why promote something you dont want to see?

Exactly. Alex -- as our voice from the Presbyterians, would you know why the pastors are so gung-ho for this?
