“...no law prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”
If it passes and there is a suit, the law is a goner. This is just a bunch of SF fags trying to impose their will on the rest of society. Truly Sodom and Gomorrah (sp) over there.
Not at all, Leith Anderson. The liberty of which you speak belongs to the newborn, not the parent, in this case.
Where are the Jews anyway?
Too busy raising money for Obama?
We only preventatively remove breast tissue from girls in the most rare genetic cases yet one in eight women have a lifetime risk.
You cannot dispute the child's body is his own. The foreskin is not an abnormality. Leave it alone.
It seems like a "no brainer" for a pro-life person to recognize the child is a separate and distinct person from the parent and yet I see many opposed to an effort to stop unnecessary mutilation of his "private parts" once he's born. This dichotomy is very puzzling to me.
If you see the child as less than a person, slice and dice as you want, in or out of the womb, what's the difference? /s
These articles are useful to support a sexually active adults decision for the procedure. If there are other medical issues relative to personal hygiene or particular problems with recurrent infections then also one can proceed with the surgery.
Otherwise, without a medical issue, the procedure should be regarded as an unnecessary violation of the integrity of a human being. Children are not chattel, pets or objects to be tinkered with and are deserving of basic protections from actions of others, well-intentioned or not.
"Not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring..." Rom 9:7

Hmmm.... Millions of male Jews do not for a moment believe that they have been violated. I (not a Jew) have never felt violated. and am in fact thankful for it. Where are you getting this idea that people like us have been violated?
Where are the Jews anyway?

Don’t you think wise behavioral choices are more important than surgical ones look at the claims on STDs?

However some people circumcise their children because of religion, some because of their belief in the biblical laws that became religion and some because they believe that it is of physical value, at any rate a child is not its own as long as the parents has to care for it.
As far as the claims STDs? there are claims to prove or disprove anything you want to prove or disprove.
But it seems that what this is all about is to disprove the Bible and if this happens then we must admit we are no more than animals, some animals care for their little ones different than others, one dog or cat might treat their little ones to your approval where an other one don,t, some of them will kill their little ones etc.
The point being that what makes man any different than animals is God and his word which many people are trying to destroy, why in the world would any one who believes in human compassion want to destroy the very thing that brought love and compassion in the first place, kind of like burning the truck that hauled in your food.
Even with all the benefits of circumcision, there must be a reason boys are born with foreskins. Maybe for protection in the womb?
A couple of idiots had a star turn on FR a week or so back - they're raising their poor child in a completely "non-judgmental" way - to the point of not telling anybody if the kid is a boy or a girl and letting him or her make ALL "its" own decisions. Needless to say, the kid's older siblings are already pretty thoroughly messed up and this kid will be too.
Wisdom teeth and appendixes aren't abnormalities either, but they can cause a lot of trouble. And if you have to be circumcised as an adult because the trouble arrived, it is much more painful and has many more complications. A friend of my dad's wound up having to have that surgery at age 50, and he said in retrospect he thinks he would rather they had just hit him in the head with a hammer. He's only half kidding.
As for "behavioral choices", sometimes it's not the choice of YOUR child -- or sometimes your child inflicts his choices on others, as when a husband brings home HPV to his wife and she winds up with cervical cancer.
