Thank you for the laugh! I needed that today.

Read your Bible - it will tell you the day that the dead will be raised to receive immortality, glory, power and a spiritual body just as Christ Jesus received at His resurrection!

Read your Bible - it will tell you that your understanding of "Hell" is not the "hades/sheol" of the Bible, which actually is the grave. BTW, this is also told to you in your "Catholic Encyclopedia" - read it.

Read your Bible - you don't have a "soul", you are a "soul/being/person/creature/life". God breathed into the body the breath of life and it became a living 'soul/being/creature/person/life." BTW, your "Catholic Encyclopedia" also tells you that!

If you don't know these things, then, IMHO, you haven't really read the Bible to "grow in the knowledge of Christ."

Again, thank's for the laugh. I needed that today.

Apostles Creed:

Have you ever read the original "Apostles Creed"? It didn't have the expression "descended into hell". That was added at a latter date because of an argument among certain partisan groups.

Maybe, if I find the time, I'll post it for you :-)

BTW, I'm still in a laughing mood :-)

What verse did you get that from? There is/was no change anywhere in Scripture. Did Peter, Paul, Luke, change it somewhere? I submit they went to Synagogue on Saturday, just as always after Jesus left. The Bible says God wishes that we would become perfected. A perfected Jew is one that is a Jew that believes prophesy was fulfilled with Jesus. Jews for Jesus prefer to be called “Believers”. We, as Christians have been adopted, or grafted in, to the Jews, not the other way around. How can we be part of the family of God if we aren't Jewish? Remember Jesus came for the Jews and the Gentiles were second. The Bible just says what Jews are supposed to believe. If you want to be saved, it will be by Jesus, an Orthodox Jew.

If you are able to decide what day God declared the Sabbath, then soon we are following the whims of man and not the commands of God. The traditions of men angered our Lord and was a real sticking point with Jesus. Calling someone Lord or King is easy, but I can't imaging standing before my King and telling him we decided to change the Sabbath. This isn't a democracy where we get a vote.

My point is as the Scriptures say, Jesus resurrected from the dead “In the Sabbath” or “On the Sabbath, as Matthew 28:1 is CORRECTLY translated. NOT as it is CORRUPTED, “After the Sabbath ....”

“On the third day”, says Paul, was “the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES” -— the passover Scriptures; and refers to Exodus chapter 10 to 15, “Three days darkness” and the “plague”. The Exodus “three days” are the equivalent of Jonah’s three days in “hell” and they typified Jesus’ days of Last Suffering and Crucifixion, of Burial, and of Resurrection -— respectively.

I mentioned Lohmeyer because I don’t want to plagiarise. He used the words in connection with the ten tribes of Israel though - not in connection with the “three days” of the passover.

“Abib 15” is translated “the fifteenth day of the First Month” in the OT, also called “The Feast” of passover or “the sabbath” of passover; or “the first day of unleavened bread (eaten)”, or “great day” of passover, or “That Day”, or “in-the-bone-of-day-day” of passover. It was the day exclusively for the assimilation of the passover-sacrifice again with the earth, in two ways: 1) by having been EATEN it became part of corruptibility and courruptible MAN; 2) by “that which remained” of it having been removed out into the wilderness (the grave) and there having been BURNED or returned to dust or ashes. THE WHOLE of this second day of passover was thus used for ‘burial’ BY THE LAW of the passover. Christianity is WRONG to give the BURIAL of Jesus only a few minutes of the PREVIOUS day.

‘Good Friday’ non the less because ALL of Jesus’ suffering is ‘good news’ for the sinner. We can therefore also speak of ‘good Thursday’ because of His Crucifixion on Thursday.

The Jews decided NOT to kill Jesus “on the Feast” or ‘great sabbath’ of the passover Abib 15; He was in fact killed on “The Preparation of the Passover” Jn19:14 Abib 14, and the day after -— “The Feast” —— “was” says John in 19:31, “That Day great day of sabbath” of the passover: that is, the day of Jesus’ BURIAL was the “great day of sabbath”. Joseph buried the body of Jesus on “That Day” and “sabbath” of the passover : ACCORDING TO THE LAW of the passover! And the next day — which was the “Sabbath according to the (Fourth) Commandment” Lk23:56b, He arose from the dead “First Sheaf Offering waved before the LORD”.

Why did Paul not only say as you say, ‘he died .... and rose from the dead three days later’? But he said TWICE: “He died (’for your sins’) ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES”; and He rose from the dead (’for your sins’) “the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES”? It’s because it was not a mere three consecutive three days long that He would be dead before He would rise again; but because it was THOSE THREE DAYS “according to the Scriptures” the PASSOVER-Scriptures HAVING BEEN FULFILLED by the Antitype of the passover sacrifice. Christ is Truth; the Scriptures’ Truth. “No sign shall be given you except the sign of THE PROPHET, Jonah” — “even though one rose from the dead you won’t believe believed you not MOSES” - the Scriptures!

Have you ever seen an atheist or a denier of Jesus Christ who believes the Scriptures?

“Joy on Sunday morning”? meaning He resurrected on Sunday morning? But was crucified, “a Thursday afternoon”? Then He rose on the FOURTH day; not “on the third day according to the Scriptures” .....

“Three days and three nights” are three days in any language; but in context, in the Scriptures it is symbolic of Christ -— LITERALLY, called an ‘expression’ or not.

Me too. What has it got to do with the facts Jesus was crucified “the very first day” of passover; was buried “the first day you must eat unleavened bread”; and was resurrected “the first day you must count seven sevens”?

Jesus died and rose in three days; the Fifth Day of the week night and day is 1; the Sixth Day of the week night and day is 2; the Sabbath (Seventh Day of the week) night and day is 3 = “the very first day REMOVE LEAVEN”; “the first day seven days EAT unleavened bread”; “the day after the Sabbath wave FIRST SHEAF” = Abib 14, 15, 16.

This is a lying report: “Now it was the Day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath” John says on the contrary: “That Day was great day of sabbath”

Amen! Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is his Day of Victory and therefore is “The Lord’s Day” BECAUSE He rose from the dead “In the Sabbath” Mt28:1 -— What fitting start for the new creation in God which Jesus has given us! Amen!

Ja; on earth; with us; yes. It was another matter in the case of Jesus Christ. He — and He alone — DIED DEATH THREE DAYS LONG; LIVED HELL “three days and three nights” for atonement of sin and the salvation “to us-ward” sinners in hell virtually. If you despise it, you despise it; bear the consequences; it’s none of my concern.

I “observe” NO “Jewish holidays” or holy days; but thanks for your Christian attitude, in any case! I only believe “The Seventh Day Sabbath of the LORD your God”, “The Lord’s Day” in and under the New Testament. ‘Observing’ the Sabbath, all OT ‘days’ are observed IN TRUTH because IN CHRIST.

Jesus said: “three days and three nights IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH” which is figurative language for LIVING, hell. It is not literal language for being “in the earth”=”in the grave”: DEAD.

I am not sure if I understand your point or question. Can you rephrase it for me?

I must be a little dense today.

I’m trying to understand your post, but it makes absolutely no sense to me.

What is the “lying report” you mention? John 19:31?

Reject scripture at your own peril.
