Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments as follows:
Last Friday on the Washington Post blog, “On Faith,” English atheist Richard Dawkins said the Catholic Church was “surely up there among the leaders” as “the greatest force for evil in the world.” He labeled the Eucharist a “cannibal feast,” adding that “possession of testicles is an essential qualification to perform the rite.” He also blamed the Church for sending missionaries “out to tell deliberate lies to AIDS-weakened Africans” regarding condoms. The Church’s outreach to Anglicans, he said, makes it “a common pimp,” noting that those who convert “will be joining an institution where buggering altar boys pervades the culture.”
On Saturday, a Los Angeles Times editorial said that “church leaders, including popes, have changed their thinking over the years about everything from usury to the culpability of Jews for the Crucifixion….” It concluded, “You don’t have to be Catholic (or Anglican) to realize that society as a whole would be better off if the church’s views of women and gays underwent a similar evolution.”
On Sunday, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd recalled that when she was in grade school, “Nuns were second-class citizens then and–40 years after feminism utterly changed America—they still are.” She called Pope Benedict XVI the “uber-conservative pope,” a.k.a. “God’s Rottweiler,” who was once “a conscripted member of the Hitler Youth.” She also accused the Church of enabling “rampant pedophilia.”
On Monday, James Carroll in the Boston Globe called the outreach to Anglicans “a cruel assault,” “an insult to loyal Catholic liberals” and “a slap at women and homosexuals.” He characterized the outreach as a “preemptive exploitation of Anglican distress.”
These deranged comments—all voiced in America’s premier newspapers—demonstrate that anti-Catholicism is the most virulent expression of bigotry in the U.S. It also shows why these newspapers, quite unlike the Catholic Church, are dying. As for the writers, they need to go to church. Either that or check into an asylum.

We could pray for poor Dawkins, you know. Just a thought. I know someone who hated the Church and had ab adversarial relationship with the Lord just as bad as his—another overeducated scientist—and he too came to acknowledge the Lord by getting a blast of His love. So miracles happen. Other aetheists have admitted their error, and Dawkins might, too.

I understand their frustration, imagine wanting to control the thoughts and actions of Christians who believe in an all-powerful God. Imagine a supernatural organization on earth with beliefs as unchangable as God and you can understand their feelings of powerlessness. I imagine they feel about as frustrated as Satan, they have some power over those who will follow them but the ultimate power will always be out of their reach.

The major newspapers and all the rest of the media hate traditional Americans. Their hate is directed at those who are not in lockstep with them. All at the same time spewing their garbage about diversity and tolerance. I love to watch the media participate in their own demise.
Let's list the sins against the secular god for which the Church is responsible.
1. AIDS in Africa
2. The Holocaust.
3. The persecution of homosexuals.
4. Attempting to wreck the Anglican Church.
5. Raping children.
6. The degradation of women.
7. Hording stacks of money and art treasures while people starve.

So what would you have is do with this organization? And all the people cried with one voice......"crucify it, crucify it....."
Remember when the Convention, including the likes of Jack Kemp, howled when Buchanan spoke of a culture war? The dims have got down and dirty, but still our leadership acts as though fighting were beneath them.

It never amazes me to watch MSNBC's Rachel Maddow bemoan poor late-term abortion doctors as 'victims' of anti abortion activists and never even entertain the though of having any compassion for the murdered late umborn, who are butchered into pieces like stew meat by these "doctors," or that these "doctors" might be nothing short of Mengele type murders.
Show me one religion that hasn't evolved over time, that hasn't changed its mind on some issues. Why assail only the Catholic Chyurch and not all of them? How come there is no stoning of adulterers in Israel? Or slavery? Or polygamy? It's all in the Old Testament. So, should we now mock Judaism for changing its mind on these issues? Oh, the JDL would be out there accusing someone of anti-Semitism and hate-speech.
Rabid feminist halfwits for example have no problems with discriminatory laws such as the Draft Law because in the case of a declared war, only men get drafted. But if it were the other way around they would be screaming their heads off.
They don't mind when young men are charged more for car insurance then young women, but they complain that older women, who use their health benefits more than men, get charged more for medical insurance.

It used to be that news media were required to give a balanced and unbiased presentation of an issue. That went out the window with Ronald Reagan. Now it's coming back to bite his very own.

I attended the funeral of a 91 y/o woman today. The priest spoke of her devotion to St. Ann and how it guided so many decisions in her life. She had a good life, loving family and devoted to her parish. Afterwards I began to think about Mother Angelica, whose life has been anything but simple. I truly believe the strokes that silenced her are part of her purgatory on earth so she can be welcomed into eternal happiness with her divine spouse. What a remarkable woman!!
He has a ways to go to catch up with Liz Taylor who was married 8 times.

The Catholic Church? God founded it. It will be around until the end of time. People won't even recall (hopefully) what "newspapers" were at that point in time. Newspapers? Oh yeah.........that tripe that used to cost a quarter, but now 2 bucks; the print that no one buys anymore. Yes.

Not so simple. After the Council many of our priests, religious, and even bishops sought to break with the past, or rather decided that “modernism” was the truth. And it started before that. During the 18th Century many of our clergy had converted to liberalism. In the Austrian Empire the Emperor Joseph had sought to impose”reform” on the Church in his land. Many clerics took prominent roles in the French Revolution, and took part in a “nationalization” of the Church in France. Among them was Talleyrand, a bishop, who abandoned his call to become a leading member of the Directory and afterwards foreign minister for Napoleon.
In our own country toward the end of the 19th century, the “Americanists” sought to change the Church to conform more with our democratic ideals, and to resent Roman control. In Europe the modernists sought to liberalize theology, only to be suppressed by Pope Pius X. There were modernists here, and after the Council they seized their opportunity and imposed radical reforms on a laity that was not exactly crying out for reform. Except on one issue: birth control. The issue of human reproduction has done to alienate the church from the modern world than almost anything else, and it is directly related to the most important difference. That is the conviction of the world that nothing exists apart from it, or that if there is, then nothing that cares about the affairs of men. The majority of Catholics are torn between this view and the vierw of th Church. They don’t want to abandon the Church but they compartmentalize what it teaches. They desperately want to “fit in.” and to fit in they must agree that having children—or “Too Many” children—is an insufferable burden.
