As an agnostic moving towards atheism, I reject your assertion. I hold my self 100% accountable for every aspect of my life. Every consequence of every decision is mine to bear.
Furthermore, atheism is not a religion (at least, not to me). With the exception of maybe Budhism, atheists are the one group of people that have no long running beef with anyone, while Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindu, Seek, et.al. are trying to kill each other often with no clear idea why.

Atheism is a belief without factual proof that there are no supernatural beings of any kind. No atheist can prove that this is true no more than any believer can prove the existence of his or her supernatural being of choice.
