Vatican Backs Obama's Global Agenda
ChristianWorldviewNetwork.com ^ | October 13, 2009 | Cliff Kincaid

Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby.

Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues.

This is the untold story-how Obama and the Vatican accept major ingredients of what has been called a New World Order.

Another untold story is how, despite a disagreement over abortion, the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the Obama Administration agree on major aspects of so-called health care reform.

Within the past few weeks Pope Bendict issued an encyclical wherein, although shrouded in much ‘newspeak’, he embraces a world government and the socialism that would entail.

His attitudes, and demands are well known; can one praise him without tacitly supporting his agenda?

RACHEL DONADIO and LAURIE GOODSTEIN
Published: July 7, 2009 Osservatore Romano, via Reuters

VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday called for a radical rethinking of the global economy, criticizing a growing divide between rich and poor and urging the establishment of a “true world political authority” to oversee the economy and work for the “common good.”

He criticized the current economic system, “where the pernicious effects of sin are evident,” and urged financiers in particular to “rediscover the genuinely ethical foundation of their activity.”

He also called for “greater social responsibility” on the part of business. “Once profit becomes the exclusive goal, if it is produced by improper means and without the common good as its ultimate end, it risks destroying wealth and creating poverty,” Benedict wrote in his new encyclical, which the Vatican released on Tuesday.

More than two years in the making, “Caritas in Veritate,” or “Charity in Truth,” is Benedict’s third encyclical since he became pope in 2005. Filled with terms like “globalization,” “market economy,” “outsourcing,” “labor unions” and “alternative energy,” it is not surprising that the Italian media reported that the Vatican was having difficulty translating the 144-page document into Latin.

Yes, he endorsed a global peacekeeper in his latest encyclical. Yes, he REJECTED the lack of morals of many NGOs in the world. I read that as a REJECTION of the UN, but an endorsement of global governance by a pro-life entity. Leftists interpret it as an endorsement of the UN.

The article made an objectively false claim. (In plain language: it lied.) I pointed out that lie.

Amazingly, the Vatican is not a shill for Obama, or for any other politician, or political position, or political party.

That means that sometimes they will agree with Obama.

Sometimes they will agree with you.

Sometimes they won't.

"Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama"

Too bad the anti-Catholic bigots who wrote the article didn't do their homework. The actual wording by the Vatican was actually rather tepid:

"The awarding of the Nobel Prize for Peace to President Obama is greeted with appreciation in the Vatican,"

The semi-official Vatican daily, L’Osservatore Romano, has called the decision to award President Obama with the Nobel Peace Prize premature and more of an invitation to choose peace through politics. The award is also questionable because of his position on various bio-ethics issues, especially abortion.

The article points out that “the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama has taken everyone somewhat by surprise, first and foremost the U.S. president himself.”

“During the last 90 years,” L'Osservatore noted, “the prize has never been awarded to a sitting U.S. president—when it was awarded to Jimmy Carter in 2002 he had been out of office already for some time—[but was] involved in politics and susceptible, therefore, to making a range of decisions related to peace.”

Perhaps for this reason, the newspaper said, “Analysts have almost unanimously interpreted his selection as a way of pressuring Obama to make pacifist choices as his administration continues forward.”

Matthew 5:11-12

Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.

There is NO more effective voice against the genocidal abortionists and their "father the devil" than the Catholic Church. The Enemy, who knows this, will stop at nothing to try to silence the Catholic Church. Slander, of course, is the Enemy's favourite tactic for he is rightly called the Father of Lies. Sadly, many folks would rather listen to the evil whisperings of he who was "a murderer from the beginning" than to the truth.

Pray unceasingly, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and power, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places."

"The guy who praised" was Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi. The follow-up correction was written by author Lucetta Scaraffia, in the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, which doesn't enjoy a good reputation among politically conservative Catholics already. I find it hilarious that FRCatholics are now praising the L'Osservatore Romano editorial as being more authoritative of the Vatican position than Fr. Lombardi's.

When the newspaper leaves the Pope sounding TOOOOO GLOABLIST in his priorities and values . . .
