Our nation was built on a foundation of strong faith, and in some respects, that hasnt changed. In fact, 69% of Americans believe in God, 77% pray outside of religious services, and 75% believe its a parents responsibility to give children a religious upbringing. But even though 45% of respondents called themselves religious, 50% said they rarely or never attend worship services.
More than a quarter (27%) of respondents said they dont practice any kind of religion. As books with titles like God Is Not Great and The God Delusion have climbed the best-seller lists in recent years, sociologists have speculated about a new atheism in the U.S. No such thing, according to PARADEs surveyonly 5% of respondents didnt believe in God, 7% werent sure about the existence of God, and 12% didnt believe in an afterlife.

69% believe in God but 77% pray? Uh....to who?
It isn’t a question of “spirituality”. The stat that jumped out at me was that only 12% of respondents believe their religion is the ONLY true way to God. Tolerance run amock. I suppose we need to cover all the bases with an Idol to the “unknown God” so we won’t offend one my mistake. (seems like I read somewhere about that being done before). We are a decadent, tolerant, non dogmatic nation that has lost its salt.
Taht's precisely the question.
