Tonight, Thrsday 10/8 and tomorrow, Frday 10/9, is Hosha`-na' Rabba', the final day of the feast of Sukkot. It is also unique in that, although technically Chol HaMo`ed it has something of the air of a Yom Tov and even the High Holy Days (HaYamim HaNora'im) about it.

During Sukkot the non-Jewish nations are judged for water, and this, the final day of that judgment, is a sort of Yom Kippur for non-Jews. For Jews it is the day that the judgments written on Ro'sh HaShanah and sealed on Yom Kippur become permanent and "drop from Heaven."
