Here is a poll question that would like to know what religion we Freepers consider ourselves.
What Religion Are You Freeper?
I know that most Freepers consider ourselves to be a Christian, but there are many of you Freepers who tend to keep your religion to yourselves and basically stick to the political issues. However, inquiring minds would like to know, and it would only take few seconds to answer the poll question.
TOPICS: General Discusssion; Ministry/Outreach
KEYWORDS: affiliation; faith; poll; religion; religious; vanity

This is my blog, It is where I keep many of my religious articles. I am presently working on an article, and I would like to get a general idea of what religion my fellow Freepers consider themselves to be.
As many of you know or probably figured from my writings, I am an unaffiliated evangelical Christian. I write political and religious articles and I am also one of two Evangelical Christian Pastors who offer our services for the residents of "Windchime of Chico". It is a limited assisted retirement center. So if you would, I would appreciate you answering the poll question I set up.

I wasn’t certain whether to vote “Presbyterian” or “Calvinist.” All the conservative Presbyterian denominations I know are Calvinistic.
In the end I voted “Presbyterian.” But I have nothing in common with the liberal Presbyterian denominations except that name.

That is funny, because that is the very reason I added Gnostic as a choice. I was thinking there had to be someone who thought they had some sort of special knowledge that God changed His ways. They would be wrong, thus the Gnostic choice.

I looked at their spot in DC so they think I'm a scientologist.
I've got dozens of Bibles here. Many so frail that pages crack and want to break while reading them. All my beliefs are Christian at this point. God made me curious.

Born and raised in a fire-and-brimstone pulpit-pounding Southern Baptist church. Nowdays, I refuse to participate in organized religion, prefer to worship on my own than fight with them over what I see as faulty doctrine and compromising their faith to diversity under the guise of compassion.

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said "Stop! Don't do it!"
"Why shouldn't I?" he said.
"Well, there's so much to live for!"
"Like what?"
"Well... are you religious?"
He said yes.
" I said, "Me too! Are you Christian or Buddhist?"
"Christian."
"Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant ?"
"Protestant."
"Me too! Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?"
""Baptist"
"Wow! Me too! Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?"
"Baptist Church of God!"
"Me too! Are you original Baptist Church of God, or are you reformed Baptist Church of God?"
"Reformed Baptist Church of God!"
"Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915?"
"He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915!"
I said, "Die, heretic scum", and pushed him off.

I am taking a poll, because I would like to gather some information for an article I plan on writing. An article to be published where? What is the purpose of an article regarding the religion of FReepers?
From your home page "I am born again Christian who believes the 2nd amendment was put in the constitution by the Spirit of God to defend my right as a free Christian against an oppressive government that might one day decide my freedom is over and they attempt to take my life liberty and happiness away. I have ancestors who fought in every war America ever had! I also come from a long line of stubborn Irish Norwegians" You have been a FReeper since 1998.
With that in mind, I have voted and am sending your request on to the Flying Inmans.

Actually, the list is bogus in that it lists numerous Christian denominations as if they were separate religions. They may be separate faith communities, but they are not separate religions. The religion is Christianity.

I am a Christian. Nothing more, nothing less:
Acts 11:26 (New International Version)
v26 ...and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

I belong to the General Church of the New Jerusalem (New Church). It is a very small church established by the Lord in preparation for His second coming. It is based on the Writings of Emmanuel Swedenborg, a 18th century mystic and theologian.
More on my home page.
Since we moved from the Philadelphia area, we have been attending our community Episcopal Church here in Kansas. Nice conservative folks.
