"...Only a fully battle-equipped Church will be capable of meeting the challenges of the aggressive pagan culture that imbues every aspect of social and political life nowadays. The prevailing pagan culture is not only demon-worshipping but it is resolute in its determination to destroy all vestiges of the social kingship of Jesus Christ and is rapidly executing hostile takeovers of our families. Militant faith, in the grand traditions of the exorcist-like priest saints (Saint Francis Xavier, Saint John Vianney, Saint Edmund Campion, etc.), will save the culture and the Church. Nothing less."
"Lest we lose hope for a restoration of the Church Militant, let us remember that we are the Church Militant and that Christ is still charge of His Church. Our part is to live heroically our Baptismal promises to "reject Satan and all his works and all his empty promises" and then to throw ourselves headlong into the work of evangelizing culture with militant confidence that Christ, the High Priest of exorcists, will save us from all the works of the devil and his minions."
-Excerpt from the conclusion of Father Thomas Euteneuer's The 1999 Revision of the Rite of Exorcism: The Devil is in the Details, Advent/Christmas 2006 issue of The Latin Mass. Father Euteneuer has a book forthcoming titled Exorcism and the Church Militant. You can watch a recent interview of Father at Gloria.tv.
Catholic ping!

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

That is what we are, or should be. Sadly that is rarely if ever preached from the alter.
Church Militant, Church Suffering, Church Triumphant. I fear most Catholics (CINOs) would say "huh?".
Bring back the Baltimore Catechism.
“..aggressive pagan culture that imbues every aspect of social and political life nowadays.”
Less we forget, in addition to the pagan culture attempting to destroy Christianity, we should include the threat of Islam.
And, in some instances, with the cooperation of certain Catholic bishops.
One rarely hears the words Church Militant anymore. There are 1 billion Catholics around the globe. Were we to be united in voice and actions, we could effect so many changes.
Agree. If not by action, by inaction. Silence in these matters is consent.
One good way to start is to ignore Political Correctness when speaking out.
Many conservative Catholics live in areas with liberal leaning or innefectual dioceses and parishes as I do. Archbishop Favalora has been a disappointment to me in many areas. And while my parish has large active Pro-life and Vocations ministries, there is a growing liberal presence at my parish.
I am a firm believer that if half of all conservative Catholics grouped together, with one voice, we could effect change in both the Church (change as in reducing the influence of liberals and CINO’s) and in Government. This can only be accomplished by starting at the parish level and working our way up from there.
Have other conservative FR-Catholics started bringing conservative peoples’ in their parish together? If so, how have you done this?
I’d appreciate any advice.
**Not to offend anyone but please do NOT message me saying I should leave the Church and move to a more conservative Christian denomination. I am a Catholic. A Catholic who loves my Church and has no desire to abandon Her. I respect conservative Christians of all denominations and out of that respect I would never tell another Christian to leave their Church, please do not ask me to leave mine.**
“One good way to start is to ignore Political Correctness when speaking out”
That’s the key.

If you lead by example, others will follow.
Whatever became of the book he was supposed to be writing about exorcism?? I thought it was supposed to be out by now, and have been looking forward to reading it. Even this article from 2006 mentions it, stating the the title will be “Exorcism and the Church Militant”. Has anyone heard anything about when/if this book will finally be published (or, if it HAS been published, where is it being sold)??
