Pray for our American Heroes

Thank You, Lord, for the men and women of our armed forces. Protect them as they protect us. Defend them as they defend us. Encourage and strengthen their spirit, soul, and body in the execution of their duties and responsibilities. Strengthen them physically and mentally so that they can face the challenges that are brought their way. We ask today, Sir, for a blessing for each one—wherever their greatest need—as a reward for giving their lives into our service.

For the mothers that are separated from their families, we ask You to fill their hearts this weekend and drive out any sense of pain or loss. Let them know that their work is not in vain

We pray today for Shirley Dobson, as her tireless work on the National Day of Prayer, 2009, has come to an end. Restore her, Father,--spirit, soul and body, and show her how to organize next year’s event. We never “arrive” in our work for You, so teach her how to rise another step higher in this good work. We ask You to provide her whatever helpers she needs to accomplish this task. Thank You, Father, for the fruitfulness of her ministry. We know this is a good work and that You answer the prayers of Your people. How we honor and thank You for that, Sir.

We gather together this day to pray for the heroes You have given us, and know that You are raising up more heroes to preserve this nation You established. Thank You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
