I had not seen the depiction of Our Lady of America before. Many thanks.
Beautiful.
Lord Jesus, have mercy on us.
After this statue visited Ground Zero on 9/11/07, I just happened to go to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and there she was. I didn’t know anything about this title until a few weeks ago, when I found the website.
I was captivated by her smile. The statue seemed so like a real person.
I feel quite astonished and blessed. Out of all Our Lady’s titles, we Americans are given the one associated with Our Mother’s loving and engaging smile. :o)
I am continuing to turn to her for the sake of our country.
I read the whole website.
America was called to be an example to the world..
I pray that we may continue to be .
She does display a warming smile.
Thank you. I picked it before election last time. I thought it would be good to let folks know that no matter WHO won, God was still in control. May the best man win tomorrow.
How about that, there is a http://www.ourladyofamerica.com/ as well as an .org
The pictures also look like a Church is under construction and the statue is new out of the box.
Lastly, at our Election Vigil Hour tonight, I could have forgiven a Kenyan in the USA who might have still sided with Obama and after all, I’m not one to judge in the first place. There are not many people with Kenyan heritage who ever run for President. But this lady from Kenya in our Church went to the Vigil. I don’t know if she can vote, I don’t know if she is a citizen, but good to see her there.
~ PRAYER ~
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

The picture was taken on 9/11/07, and the church is St. Peter's (BTW, the first Catholic parish in NY, and St. Elizabeth Seton's parish), which is a block away from Ground Zero. The statue was on a pilgrimage to different cities in the US, and fittingly, she was in NY on 9/11. There are more pictures at the .org site, with story details.
She was at St. Peter's for a few hours, then was taken uptown by fire truck to St. Patrick's Cathedral, also for a few hours.
I didn't know anything about it, when I just happened to make a visit to the Cathedral. And I forgot all about it, until I found the .org website, 6 weeks ago. Just in time for the election, I might add. :o)
The memory came back to me slowly. I said to myself, "Wait a minute! I saw this statue!
I love that picture.
I say the St. Michael prayer severals times a day.
Keep praying!
You can also pray to St. Jude the Patron Saint of “Miracles”. :)
Roughly half of Catholics are voting for the abortionist and partital birth abortionist Barrack Obama.
They should all go to confession and have prayers said for themselves.
I can rest tonight knowing I have a clear conscience. Remember God is still in control.
God will bless us for our prayers, no matter what.
Keep praying for the next election.
