Daily "Pray for America" Thread (7-17-08)

America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. America has many foreign and domestic enemies that are seeking her destruction.

This thread is a daily call and reminder for people of faith who believe in God and in the power of prayer to make a commitment to intercede for America at this critical time in her history

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.

if we stay faithful in prayer and intercede for america as king david interceded for israel, we will see God's answer.

Holy and Loving Father,

Thank You for allowing us to live in America. The most beautiful country in the world. You have Blessed us with so many wonderful things. Unfortunately, along the way, we have allowed evil men and women to take control of our government and our courts. They are power hungry, greedy men and women, who have no regard for anyone or anything except themselves. They have sold us out to the highest bidder. They want to live in a world that has two classes of people. The elite and the poor working class. We've always had total freedom and it's scary to think that we might someday lose it. We are seeing signs that it's slipping away from us. America is now in a state of decline as we see them sending us into captivity.

They have removed You from the schools, the government and they are working on making it illegal to acknowledge You in public. We know that You are angry, and we are too, but we can't stop them without Your help. There's too much corruption. We brought it on ourselves for looking the other way so we wouldn't rock the boat. We didn't mind as long as things didn't directly affect us. We are guilty of apathy. Please forgive us, and we also ask You to forgive the leaders of our country who have turned to evil. But we still want them out of office, so please remove them from office and the courts so You can put Godly men and women into office. People who will follow Your Word and Your Commandments.

You gave us the formula on how to get You to heal our country in 2 Chronicles 7-14, but we don't have enough workers. If Christians don't care enough to join us as we seek You in prayer so that You will heal America, then it's not likely that You will. You expect us to get right with You by humbling ourselves, confessing our sins, seeking forgiveness, and forsaking those sins. We will continue to ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers, and hopefully, He can get them to come. There is so much power when Christians stand together and seek You. We could tear down many strongholds, in the name of Jesus! We humbly ask You to forgive us of our sins of commission and sins of omission. We ask that You would guide us so we can stand before You in Righteouness. We repent of those sins and ask You to deliver us from all evil.

We pray for our troops and first responders. We ask that You will protect them and that You will go before them to show where the enemies are hiding. Please keep them safe so they can return to their loved ones. Please protect their loved ones while they are away, and for those who have lost a family member, we ask that You would comfort them and give them strength for the difficult days ahead. Please help them through their grief.

We pray for our families and ask You to protect them too. We all have loved ones who are not Saved and that breaks our hearts. They won't listen to us, so we ask You to bring Christians into their paths who will witness to them and tell them the Good News about Jesus so that they will turn from their wicked ways and receive Jesus as their Savior. We ask these things in the Name of Jesus, and we thank You for hearing our prayers. We ask You to act upon them with favor. Amen!!
