"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." Ephesians 3:14-19

I have a couple of prayer requests. My son's company closed down the branch he was employed at and he is searching for a new position.

I have continual pain from arthritis in my spine.

Please lift up these concerns in your prayers. Thank you.

Prayers lifted that God will lead your son to a great new adventure which glorifies His name, and that you find respite from the dreadful pain in your spine.

Have you ever tried an inversion table? Sometimes they work really well on compressed discs in just a matter of seconds.

***If someone has not experienced the Lord’s Presence in a gathering for prayer***

What I find amazing is how at times a group can be gathered for prayer and after the Amen is said you think well that didn’t last long, maybe 5 minutes or so. You peek at your watch and 45 minutes has passed.

Being totally lost in prayer is a blessing on this side of eternity, perhaps a foreshadowing of heaven

The problem is spur growth around a nerve in the spine and that affects my legs...can't stand very long or walk very far. It's painful just to work over the kitchen counter and range to cook a meal.

My doc hasn't recommended any compression treatments. He is an osteopath, so is familiar with chiropractic treatments also, and they haven't given me any relief.

I haven't gone the route of the pain management physicians as yet, and the surgery doesn't have a good success rate.

Prayer is my best recourse at this time, it appears.

Thanks for your response and prayer.

Would you like to be added to the Monday Prayer thread ping list?

My mother had surgery to remove an arthritic spur growth from her spine which was giving her tremendous nerve pain and leaving her practically immobile. She had 100% recovery. The pain is gone.

Back surgery is always the last option, but in her case, it worked well. It was practically an out-patient procedure with only a two-inches-long incision. I think she spent one night in the hospital.

As with all surgery, it's the skill of the doctor that counts. If you go that route, ask around and find the very best one out there.

That's because you fell asleep after 5 minutes. :-)

There are some days when I have been up late every night for a week and we go to church where I don't dare close my eyes during the prayer for fear that I will just doze off.

Is there a biblical rule about closing your eyes when you pray at church?

***Is there a biblical rule about closing your eyes when you pray at church?***

Yes there is.

“And thou shall closeth thine eyes from the moment thine hindparts are parked in the pew until the final benediction is delivered. Woe be unto you if thou shalst open them.”
Hezekiah 66:6

I strongly suggest you do so tomorrow and see if your pastor/fellow congregates aren’t deeply moved by your piety.
