But why am I opposed to this 'Healing Revival' so soon after it has been announced? -It is because I already know Todd Bentley's ministry all too well, and this whole thing centers around him.

I have friends who think it's great and other friends who think Todd Bentley has gone off the deep end.
"Test all things and hold fast to that which is good" 1 Thessalonians 5:21
It's taken me two years to come to my conclusion. I've been to Todd Bentley's meetings two years ago, have several of his books, and numerous cd's. I've studied them and have compared them to scripture and have come to the conclusion there is a mixture in what he teaches and for that reason cannot endorse his ministry.
Here's what the Bible says about the Bereans:
"As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men." (Acts 17:10-12)
What would be a true healing revival?
Absolutely! I can witness! My own daughter was given back to us through a diverse and peculiar miracle. Some day I will endeavor to write a vanity about it, but for now, I can truthfully attest that her survival was nothing short of an act of God.

5 SOLAS!
Absolutely. I was healed of breast cancer, and my husband was healed of deafness. I’m not questioning if God heals today, he most definitely does.
Great article!
I must say I’ve given some of my Calvinists friends more than a few things to ponder as they found out about my healing.
Many of my friends didn’t believe that God heals today but after that, some of them changed their minds. Still others say I never had cancer. I just smile and praise God for his healing grace.
1. I hadn’t been to any charismatic meeting.
2. No one laid hands on me.
3. God healed me in my own home.
4. I had a biopsy done showing cancer, so I had documented proof, but when a second biopsy was done there was no sign of any cancer.

66 POINTS!
That's a problem even aside from all the weird crap that's going on.
That’s a wonderful testimony. God certainly does heal folks, and He doesn’t need a preacher or evangelist to do it. He’s done so for me and several in my family, and He does so as He chooses. The key is, IMO, that we stay in prayer. Often He does not change our situation, He changes us.
'O God Enthroned in Heaven, I Lift my Eyes to You.' (Ps.123:1)
Thank you for the Thread, LJayne.
I know a woman who is a “Doctor of Naturopathy” (N.D.) who has her own practice treating the ill with snake glands, ginger pellets, and powders made from exotic-sounding plants. Is this harmless or harmful to people with real illnesses?
"In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and
another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel
with open eyes, the Lord said, "Here's Emma." I'm not kidding.
She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like
Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress
and looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared
beautiful and young - about 22 years old - but she was old at the
same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of
Proverbs 31 on her life. She glided into the room, emitting brilliant
light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold
out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the
church, she began putting gold dust on people... Within three
weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest
offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands
of dollars! Thousands!... During this visitation the pastor's wife (it
was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost - she
began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken
as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic
anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers of
complete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and
prophesying over them... Then angels started showing up in the
church." [END QUOTE]
More recently, Todd stated that in one of his "Third Heaven" trips
he literally visited the small cabin where the apostle Paul lives in
Heaven. Paul told him that he wrote the book of Hebrews with the
personal help of Abraham the Patriarch: "The authorship isn't clear
because it was Abraham and I; Abraham shared the content with
me." Todd's 'Third Heaven' tales are full of such astonishing claims -
and of course, more angels. (See 'A Face To Face Encounter -
Part 2 of 2' - By Todd Bentley).
Lest anyone think that Todd may have changed his ways in recent
times, you should know that he is constantly mentioning his
'angels' in the current Florida meetings also. For instance, watch
from about the 6-minute mark of the following video clip-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9mSCHJfnGE
In this video, Todd speaks of the angel that is going to "visit the
children" and then he begins more and more to jerk and laugh
uncontrollably. He prays that a 'drunken glory' will move across
the whole place - and you can see it happen in the audience.
This is all the same kind of stuff that Todd has been involved in
for years. There is nothing new in it. In fact, both Todd and Bob
Jones credit an angel that carries the "Winds of Change" for the
current healing revival - an angel that they say is still driving it. As
one young preacher commented who has been following the
Florida meetings closely, Todd seems to talk about his "healing
angel" even more than he talks about Jesus. Yes - exactly!
We are warned explicitly in Scripture that the devil "transforms
himself into an angel of light", and that in the Last Days will come
'Lying signs and wonders' that will "deceive if possible the very
elect." Do we really believe that the devil is unable to perform
miracles? Have we forgotten what the Bible clearly says?
Some make the point that Todd obviously had a strong healing
gift right from the start of his ministry - so some of the healings
in Florida may be genuinely from God. Yes - I agree that this is
possible - even likely. But how can we trust anything at all
coming from this source if it has become so tainted with all this
pollution? Do we want such a man laying hands on us and
imparting "anointings" or spirits into us?
I read a report from the UK yesterday that an English preacher
has brought Todd's anointing back from Florida and now it is
manifesting in his UK meetings: "Fire, a burning sensation,
was felt all over people's bodies... There were outbursts of joy,
drunkenness and spontaneous healings throughout the meeting."
Other reports from the USA now speak of pastors having hands
layed on them to receive the "Florida anointing".
The Elijah List claims that on New Year's Eve, for 2008, God told
Bob Jones that "the third wave was coming." Todd asked Bob
what the third wave was. He said that, "Toronto was wave #1,
Pensacola was wave #2, and the third wave is the "Winds of
Change" -- this move of God. This move will be a global move,
traveling with signs and wonders all over the world! The third wave is here!"
The Florida meetings have now moved into an 8000-seat
auditorium. This "anointing" is spreading across the globe. Can
you see why I have cause for alarm, my friends?

Thanks for the post and link.
I know someone who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer who was healed at a prayer meeting. When she went to get treatment the cancer was gone. Not a trace remained.
Do not fear the one who can destroy your body. Fear the One who can condemn your body and your soul.
The fear of the Lord must take precedence over the fear of cancer, financial struggle and inadequate pleasure.
Is it truly difficult to understand that this earth is a place of trial, of sin and of trouble? Not one of us gets out of it with our skin in tact.
The only meaningful question is, “are you going to get out of this life with your soul in tact?”
My pleasure.
Amen. Great post.
“During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost - she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her.’”
Yikes! That sure isn’t the Holy Spirit.
I don't have a problem with Todd Bentley. I've been listening to him for about 2 years now. He may not be 100% right on everything. He's human and like the rest of us is still learning and growing. I have yet to find one Christian denomination that is 100% right on everything. Something is always left out, over looked, man made tradition, ect.
I asked myself several questions about Todd Bentley. Is he getting people saved? Does he talk about Jesus, who does he say Jesus is? Does he give Him the glory? Are people being healed? What are the fruits of what he does?
And for the detractors, I'd have to ask. What are you doing? How many have you lead to Christ in the past year or so? How many people have been healed by the laying on of your hands? How many times have you stepped out to do something for Jesus that would or could cost you everything? What are you fruits?
Isn't it just like the religious spirit to come against the real thing. Just like the Sadducee's and the Phrasees did to Jesus. Even calling Jesus the devil. Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."
Praise God's Holy Name!
I don't have a problem with Todd Bentley.
I am unfamiliar with Todd Bentley, having only answered a generic question as to whether there is such a thing as miraculous healing, though I will generally agree with your position wrt his defense.

A very sober question, to be sure, and one that many/any of us would find ourselves inadequate in the resolution thereof.

VERY true words.
Thank you for your reply.
Do you have to have perfect doctrine to be saved?
Do you have to have perfect doctrine to be used of God?
Do you have perfect doctrine?
I witnessed the gold dust at the first time it showed up at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. It was real, as were the gold teeth that appeared in hundreds of people’s mouths (one from our church received that). It was real. Yes, things that God does do sometimes feel and look strange. But I refuse to judge what He’s doing through imperfect people. If this is of God, it will last. If it is not, it will fall. Todd Bentley isn’t my kind of evangelist and I am put off by some of his actions. I’ve seen him in person myself. But if God chooses to use him, well, what can I say? But we always need to be vigilant.
But let’s not forget that He sometimes uses preachers, evangelists and ordinary people to heal.
My dear friend Maria went to Africa with Todd Bentley and there were MANY miracles there. Another friend went to Lakeland and came back a changed man—changed for the better. God IS doing something wonderful there, in spite of Todd Bentley or anyone else. We do need discernment for sure but we can’t throw out the baby with the bath water. These are both Godly people and they aren’t easily swayed by fads. It was a life changer for both of them.
Amen, MsLady. Because God’s not in a box, He can move any way He wishes.
Well Stated!
Blessings in Christ!
One that actually preaches the gospel and where real healings take place and the preacher doesn’t attract attention to himself by his shenanigans. In short, one that looks like the apostles of the Scriptures.
I am sorry you are blind.
