How sad that the newsworthy visit of such a great man raises your ire - and sadder still that you choose to share your ire about this with us.

Let us know what to pray for so that you can be healed of this sad compulsion.

Sorry folks, I am not trying to pour cold water on this.

The Pope was at least 23-24 plus years an advisor to the Pope. As a matter of fact, he tried to retire 2 or 3 times but his boss told him he was needed and would not let him retire.

I used to be an Episcopalian until my church left me. This does not mean I do not have great admiration for the Pope.

On the contrary.

I was baptized in the RC church, but I liked the Episcopalian church better. I tried returning to the RC Church, but I had to go through an unbelievable level of incompetence (Latin America). I therefore I left it alone.

And by the way, NYer, I find your post more than just a tad sick.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. You are not alone. When Jewish author Roy Schoeman decided to become a Catholic, he approached several priests; all turned him away telling him to be a "better Jew". He never gave up!

Roy Schoeman's Conversion Story

I was baptized in the RC church

Which makes you a Catholic. I believe you will find answers to some of your questions at this site.

Catholics Come Home

God bless you on your journey.

PS - do you mind telling me where in South America you reside?
