Here is the text of an e-mail I received today from a family member in Israel:
"Urgent Prayer request: I just talked with Pastor XXXX from Ariel, he was at the hospital because his son XXXX opened a package that was left at their door step and it exploded. He is in critical condition and has wounds to his head, neck, chest and legs. Pray for XXXX and XXXX who are the parents."
I X'd out all names to protect the identity of the families, and it's reasonable to expect that this was a targeted attack. God will know who you're praying for.
While you're at it, lift up in prayer all Christian missionaries in Israel, especially those in the West Bank. It's always difficult there, and it seems things are getting worse for Christians in that region.

Lord God, we come before you with more questions than answers. We bow before You and place our trust in You. We beseech You as children of the King before our Father God - heal this young man. Heal Him in a way which reveals the reality of YOU - the One True Living God. Lord God, in Jesus’ Name, we also ask that Your Spirit would INCREASE in Israel. We call forth the worshippers, to offer their worship as sweet incense from Your footstool here on earth as You sit on Your throne in heaven. Hear our worship. Hear our prayers. We pray for Israel. We pray for Your people. We pray for redemption, one person at a time. We pray for Your protection and covering in INCREASE upon those who serve You in Your Promised Land such as this family. We will stay before Your throne in prayer to wait for what You will do - for Your healing Your way and for You to fulfill Your promise to use this awful, awful thing somehow for Your good. The update I received isn’t much different than what was in the article linked above, except to add that some of the shrapnel can’t be removed and will remain in the child’s body.

Quick update for those interested.
The surgery was over the weekend, and technically successful. The good news was that they did not have to amputate multiple limbs as the doctors originally thought, but the bad news is that they did amputate 8 toes.
When he went in for surgery, there was metal in one eye, both lungs, his stomach, and much of the rest of the body.
The surgery was very risky and delicate, but he made it through and is expected to recover over a period of time.
A significant part of the family’s home was also destroyed or damaged by the blast.
Prayers sent for continued healing and recovery for this boy and his family.
Heavenly, merciful Father, You are all Love. You are Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. O Lord God I join in one accord with all the other prayers prayed in this thread and ask You to send ministering angels to the boy and his family right now. Bring peace to their hearts, turn what the enemy meant for evil to good, bring the balm of Your healing to his body and speak to the boy giving him dreams and visions and an increasing knowledge of You while He is unconscious. When he awakens let him have an increased anointing from Your Spirit to draw those to You who do not yet know You. Lord God, let the event and the healing in some way provide a testimony which will cause more Jews to know Jesus was the Messiah and convert. Oh yes, this You will do, Lord! So we wait in joyful hope for word of how the work was done. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Update - The family is doing better, but it will be a long process.
The group responsible for the bombing is a group of extremist Orthodox Jews. Not sure if this part made the news.
It’s a very grave reminder of just how dangerous it is for Christians everywhere in the Middle East. All of them need our prayers.
