The Reformation Show - 10/27/07 500 hundred years ago a major shift occurred in the worldview of Western Civilization. The Reformation elicited change in theology, philosophy, politics, civics, economics, the sciences, literature, and so much more. Today the Evangelical Churches continue that great tradition expressed in the five 'Solas'. But the question needs to asked, has the Reform movement outstayed its welcome? Is Evangelicalism and the conservative theological interpretations that it holds still a vital position in the Modernist/Post-Modern era? Have the fissures caused by the political and ethnic pressures within Roman Catholic Church now become a tempest in a teapot, leaving us room for reconciliation with Rome? Or the Eastern Orthodox? Or is the Faith that Protestants proclaim that same Faith once and for all delivered to the saints and dutifully to be maintained unto all generations?

How to Apologize for Christianity - 11/3/07 There seems to be many and very different ways we could establish the truth of Christianity; indeed, some have made a career out of it! Some argue from particular evidences ? historical, scientific, and otherwise (evidentialists); others argue from design and function (presuppositionalists), and some do not argue at all (fideists). Which apologetic method is best and most biblical? Tune in as host Rich Park and staff apologists consider these questions and share their suggestions on being an effective apologist for the work of the Kingdom!

The Historical Jesus, or the Jesus of Faith? - 11/10/07 The academic environment of what has been called 'New Testament Studies' or 'Pauline Studies' has been a hot bed of activity of late. 'The New Perspective on Paul' is at war with the 'old' perspective on Paul held out by the Churches. The members of 'the Jesus Seminar' routinely have votes to decide what Jesus really said and did apart from the Historical data contained in the Scriptures themselves. They claim to have the uncanny ability to tell us what Jesus really said, or probably said, or possibly said, or would never have said. The books on the subject might be easily dismissed as needless speculation that goes far beyond the scope of legitimate historical study, but they flood the 'christian' sections of the popular bookstore chains with diatribes of faithless and skeptical analysis of the most creative sort. They need to be taken seriously if for no other reason than that people in general are taking them seriously. Was Jesus a mere itinerant Palestinian Jewish preacher who's influence is far beyond a reasonable estimation of his ability? A marauding revolutionary bent on the establishment of a new social order? A skeptical philosophical sophist plying the trade of selling the new thought of the day? The 'Quest for the Historical Jesus' is an ongoing event in the thought of scholars like N.T. Wright and Marcus Borg. Or is the Jesus of History, really identical to the Jesus of Faith held out by the holy Church of history that Jesus Christ Himself formed and protects by a still present work of a living God?

The Historical Jesus, or the Jesus of Faith? Part II - 11/17/07 Scripture, History and the Messiah Part two of a four part series: This week host Rich Park and staff apologists will look specifically at the reliability of Scripture and other historical arguments which support the belief that Jesus was the Messiah to come. Call in with insights and questions about the splendor of Scripture as it attests to the majesty of the Messiah!

The Thanksgiving Show - 11/24/07 Thankfulness is a primary attribute of the Christian's faith and practice. That blessed event so many years ago between people of remarkably different cultural backgrounds, that we celebrate each year with hot turkey and grand parades, still sets a tone for today. We are in desperate need of remembering the forces that shaped our mutual experience as a people in 'this nation under God'. It's a time for remembering not only He to whom we give our thanks but the many blessings that flow down to us from a Heavenly Father that cares deeply for the well being of His children. A good time to call in and tell us what you give thanks for this Thanks Giving Day.

Great show, but since Snyder left I lost interest. He, when running off with some historical tidbit, was AWESOME! His Gettysburg monologue was nothing but inspiring!

Do you know if Snyder is doing a different podcast? I remember hearing he was, but could never find it.

**Today the Evangelical Churches **

So does that mean that tomorrow the apologetics will come from another church? Preferrably a rebuttal from the Catholic Church?

Thanks for the post because I was unaware of apologetics.com I will have to listen to some of the archives this weekend. I hope there’s some works of Norman Geisler as I believe he is the most convincing Christian apologist out there, both live and in print. For those who have not read Geisler’s “I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist”, I strongly recommend it. Best single volume apologetic work in print.
