"Keep your disrespect for real men like Congressman Hunter... to yourself."If I recall correctly I had NOTHING BUT THE HIGHEST OF PRAISE for Congressman Hunter. I wish he were a viable candidate, but he's not. I agree with Congressman Hunter on 99% of his positions (maybe even 100%). But the fact is that he is polling at 1% of Republicans. That isn't going to get him elected. So our viable choices do not seem to include Congressman Hunter. If he were a viable candidate I would be behind him 100%. But I'm a realist and the reality is that Hunter will not be the nominee.
Now if you consider that disrespect of Congressman Hunter, then I can't help you.
and your worship of the most pampered of lifelong civilians to yourself.
I don't worship any of these candidates. Your fanatical insistence that nobody by Hunter is acceptable looks a lot more like worship than my somewhat reluctant yet firm support of Fred Thompson. I like Fred Thompson. He is clearly the most conservative candidate out there who can actually get elected. I recognize that fact. Apparently you may be blinded by your "worship" (I don't really mean it, I'm just using that word for effect) of Duncan Hunter.

I was on your ping list for a long time and was a Southern Baptist for most of my life. Even my own peers were acting like herds of spiteful goats (to put it nicely) and becoming increasingly Marcion-ist in their public prayers (also to put their idolatry very mildly). There was more...and worse...far worse.
I left that religion behind.

Didn’t you have a Christian scripture study ping list? If not...my mistake.

Actually IIRC, we finished the book of John. It was a great study.
But that doesn't answer my question. Let me repeat it:
Huh?

The more Duncan Hunter supporters I see that come on these threads and trash Thompson, the more opposed to Duncan Hunter as a VP candidate I will become. Don't judge Hunter by these jerks. The Hunter people who are bashing Thompson are people who support him as much to feel superior to the rest of the party as to actually support what he stands for.

for libertine religion Exactly what part of the Christian religion instructs you to accuse people based on little or no evidence? That's not in my Bible.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.

Ask me that, if or when you sincerely want answers to the Pauline question.
"That's not in my Bible."
I no longer read any of the revisions--not the Alexandrian one or any after that.

Thing is, Silverback, the media can't manufacture Fred's positions out of thin air. Fred really doesn't support a Federal Marriage Amendment. Fred really is going to skip the valuesvoter debate, just like Giuliani. Fred really did say "...you're going to have to, in some way, work out a deal where they can have some aspirations of citizenship..." when talking about illegals in April '06 on Fox News.
It's a given that Fred isn't the great conservative hope, and has no chance of winning a general election. The only question to be answered is whether he can fool enough conservatives into nominating him.
