when I hear any kind of siren, I say a Hail Mary for the people the police of fire fighters are going to help as well as for the emergency officers themselves. Got the hint from my priest.

It was my grandmother who taught me to do that. I have since extended it to include overflying aircraft, regardless of their size. Several years ago, a small aircraft crashed in front of a nearby strip mall, killing the pilot who was on a mail run. Then came 9/11. To this day, each time I hear and/or see an aircraft, I say an Our Father for those on board.

I thought the Maryknolls were Catholic.

They are.

My church’s morning Mass on 9-12-01 looked like a Sunday.

What a good idea. Thank you so much. Will do it.

Have I found a new church home? No I haven’t. The small church that I enjoyed so much was where our weekend house was and we sold that house. In Houston all the churches around me are huge and I don’t seem to find the one that suits me. I go church shopping every so often and one of these days, with Gods help, I’ll find it. In the mean time I say my prayers and thank God for all my blessings.

Maryknoll Father Raymond Nobiletti back to ground zero

This year, Father Nobiletti, a Buddhist monk and an Episcopal priest will lead an interfaith community memorial service

I'm confused now. Did he leave The Church?

I too say Hail Marys when I hear sirens.

I also do look at passengers when I get on an aircraft.

If I see anything that looks suspicious I will not hesitate to act. I suspect most feel that way today.

I didn’t have a church then.

But since Friday was a “Day of Prayer” for the nation, I went to a Lutheran (my denomination) church near work at lunch time for their special service. I don’t know how their church normally is, but it was a decent-sized church with maybe 1/2 to 3/4 full.
