What Marian Name Should the USA Have? [Catholic Caucus]

Posted on 06/06/2007 7:07:52 PM PDT by Macoraba

Like England is "Our Lady's Dowry". I think that Lithuania is "Terra Mariana" and Hungary is "Regnum Marianum". So what should the USA be called?

Since Our Lady under the title of Immaculate Conception is patroness of the USA what about TERRA IMMACULATA?

We already have one state named for the Catholic mother goddess, an appropriately corrupt cesspool of a little state. That’s quite sufficient, perhaps.

Macoraba,

Let me be blunt. You need to learn to label threads like this as part of the Catholic Caucus. Threads like this try all the anti-Catholic jihadists to it like a moth to a flame.

I am not in the mood to put up with it either - this is anti-Catholic flame bait.

I'll caucus the thread - and if you don't want it to be caucused, Macoraba, I will pull it.

Or bring the brand new anti-Catholics who just joined to the thread.

Post Roe v. Wade?

Try, "Sodom," "Egypt," or "Not my people".

Terra Immaculata works for me. If only we could live up to it...

But it seems we are doing everything possible to be the opposite of immaculate with more coming.

It is for each heart to be a little Terra Immaculata.
Heart by heart the triumph of the Immaculate Heart will take place and as that comes, so will the true reign of Christ the King.

Terra Immaculata would mean "Immaculate Land". Better would Terra Immaculatae or Terra Immaculatana. Both of these however are a bit awkward. How about Foedus Marianum (Marian Federation)?

Another idea. How about Imperium Marianum? In Latin imperium does not necessarily mean "empire" but any area of governance. Empire/Emperor came from the earlier term imperium which could be translated as "dominion".

It was made a caucus thread after his post. I left it up with the subsequent outrage and the negotiation to make it a caucus thread so that others can see why and how the designation should be used.

That’s bad. The Blessed Mother has repeated asked everyone to pray for an end to abortion.

I just did a search on the ‘net for “Imperium Marianum” and found this interesting article —>

Mary’s Stars on the European Flag

Since it seems Europe has first claim on Imperium Marianum it might be best and especially as Our Lady as the Immaculate Conception is the patroness of the USA that TERRA IMMACULATANA would be best for the USA.

What, pray tell, is wrong with "The United States of America"?

How about Terra Christa?

Mary consistently pointed to Christ, telling the servants at the wedding at Cana to do everything that he said, and saying “My spirit rejoices in God my savior.” (Luke 1:47)

How about Terra Christa?...

...again, as Christ is the genitive case in that phrase, the proper designation would be Terra Christi...

True . . . I may be overreaching! The way things are headed in the area of immigration, maybe we should focus on the story of Babel? Terra confusio . . .

Why name the country after a Roman Catholic heresy?
