I was in Munich last weekend and had a bottle of Augustiner Bräu at this restaurant.

I felt irresistibly drawn to the Hefe Weissen.

I better be careful, I might talk myself into full-blown irresistible grace here, if I'm not careful.

And that would be a bad thing...?

As regards this article, there are good things and bad things about CPC's. The good is that it puts legs on the pro-life position. So you're serious about life being sacred? Good. Pay for pre-natal care and help the scared young woman get through this tough time in her life. Abortion is most usually a choice of desperation, and only rarely one for convenience.

The only problem with CPC's are when they use fraud, deceit, or manipulation to achieve their ends. Not justifiable under any circumstance.

It features a Reformed Christian Pastor.

To everyone who is not a member of the Protestant Caucus:

Remember that this is a caucus thread, it is like a church meeting behind closed doors. Posters must behave as if they are guests in the other guy's church.

The Augustiner, eh?

What a great name for a restaurant. :-)

Besides being an excellent beverage, Hefe Weissen is the most economical drink in the entire country, I think.

Why the serve huge Hefes and minuscule colas is beyond me.

Sheesh, at my old Presbyterian church in Key West, a former ruling elder ran his own little microbrewery... tasted like $3 or $4 dollar a bottle beer, (really good stuff, imo) but the parishioners drank for free.

If I'm ever in Key West, I'll have to check this church out. (Because I'm Presbyterian and appreciate this guy's perspective on liberty - not because I want free beer ;-) )

What is interesting is how that is becoming the norm, though. Most of the kids I grew up with in the Plymouth Brethren are okay with alcohol. Two of the elders in my BPC church (a teetotaler denomination) have wine cellars and drink beer.

Because when push comes to shove, teetotaling just isn't a biblical requirement.

Sadly, my OPC brewmeister no longer attends the-little-OPC-that-could in Key West.

However, if you're ever in Miami... (he attends either OPC or PCA in the Miami area, don't remember for certain).

"To everyone who is not a member of the Protestant Caucus"

I forget, are neeners Protestant? Since we don't have or keep lists we can't be members of anything and we really don't know what we are or what we are for or against (so we can't really protest). I think I'm a Baptist but without a list, I don't know whether we are now Protestants. Back a while ago we weren't but with all the changes and now the Carter/Clinton Baptist Church of the Apostacy, I'm not sure.

Oh, I agree - but in both denominations I have been a member, the traditionalists would not agree.

I am CERTAIN that neeners are Protestant.

We protest lists.

Nuff said!

I don't understand why an article about abortion that happens to feature a Reformed Christian Pastor is a caucus. If it happened to feature a Catholic priest instead, it would be ok to say Catholics only? So if any article features a Catholic priest in any context, it is ok for a caucus designation? Could you please clarify this in context of this specific article?

What about those posters who argue against the designation Protestant?

It seems to me that the point of this article has nothing to do with Reformed Christianity as a denomination / Church. (Pardon my ignorance if Reformed Christian is another word for Protestant.)

Dear Gamecock,

"It features a Reformed Christian Pastor."

Yeah, I saw that.

Nonetheless, even if I as a Catholic were inclined to offer any criticism, I'm not sure how I would offer any criticism of Protestantism, per se.

I guess if you think you need a caucus label, I'm not sure I can think of a good reason why you can't.

It just seems puzzling.

Personally, even though the article seems to take a bit of a slant against the folks involved in saving unborn babies, I found the article uplifting, and am grateful for the efforts of the pro-lifers mentioned within the article.

Without regard to their membership in specific religious bodies.

Do I need to send cash or will a check do?
