Well said.
Keep knitting, m'Lady. My most precious possession is an afghan knitted by my beloved Grandmother from wool drawn from sweaters of deceased relatives. Second most is one knitted for me by my first Mother-in-law. I lived with and close to my Grandparents for a while growing up. My most peaceful memories include the clicking of knitting needles while I did my homework by the coal-fired fireplace. Those Ladies knitted love into her work that endures over generations.
Although I am a Catholic, and have been pro-life even before Roe v. Wade, because the issue arose earlier in New York State, I have long donated to a few Protestant pro-life groups.
In particular, I have donated to Operation Rescue and Survivors for many years.
Catholic pregnancy crisis centers are pretty much exactly the same as the Protestant one described in this article. No one spends a lot of time arguing politics. They take care of the mothers, help them out with love and support when their families have abandoned them, and either start them on their way of taking care of their babies, or help to adopt them out if that is the mother's choice.
I well remember attending the annual pro-life rally in DC many years ago, when Cardinal O'Connell spoke and said that the Archdiocese of New York would take care of any unwanted baby and its mother as an alternative to abortion. The newspapers of course never reported the offer, but continued to complain that Catholics opposed abortion yet refused to help deal with the excess baby problem.
