Have a Blessed Holy Week (Gay Flags Hung in Phila to Celebrate)

Wishing all of you a blessed and reverent Holy Week!
As is well known, the week leading up to Easter is the most sacred part of the calendar for Christians. While different denominations celebrate the holiday at different times, in 2006 many Christians, including Catholics, began Holy Week this past Sunday. It is supposed to be a time of repentance, prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and meditating upon the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It is, perhaps, not surprising that the homosexual community has chosen this week to celebrate their perceived victory over Christians in Philadelphia by hanging the 'gay' flag along the major thoroughfares throughout center city--an advertisement for the so-called "Equality Forum." If want to see what it looks like, click the link above. Be warned, however, that this takes you to a very 'gay' website with a photo of '80s pop diva, Taylor Dayne on it.
The city, of course, is fully on board with enabling this activity as the 'gay' flag hanging is now an annual event. This is the first time, however, that I recall seeing this symbol of two mortal sins (sodomy and pride) displayed during Holy Week.
TOPICS: Catholic; Religion & Culture
KEYWORDS: christian; easter; equalityforum; holyweek; homoagenda; homosexualagenda; philadelphia
I'm really just venting here, as the "in-your-face" attitude of the triumphal sodomites is really starting to make my skin crawl.
I just hope I don't get turned into a pillar of salt on my way home tonight.
May Christ Jesus, who died for us poor sinners, turn their hearts toward repentance.

To: Antoninus
They're still claiming Fr. Mychal Judge, hero of 9/11, was gay. If memory serves, that claim was based on one man's testimony alone, and no one else's.

I meant to add:
The idea of being tolerant with these guys essentially means that you have to put up with their raunchy, insulting behaviour like we had to endure until the little nob-jockey got thrown out of the pub.

That sickens me. You know, the reason we have the separation of Church and State in this country is to keep the state from mandating how people are supposed to believe.
If you ask me, the way the Left seeks to legislate its standards of morality as the only acceptable ones makes the separation of Church and State as it has been known for 213 years a bit quaint. We really need a separation of ideology and state, such that the state cannot force anyone to believe in a certain way.
If/when Christians become a minority religion in this country, I doubt we will receive the same treatment the homosexuals currently receive in the hate crimes and sensitivity areas. Traditional Christians and Jews of all races will attain a social status scarcely better than blacks during Jim Crow.
Let's separate ATHEISM, AGNOSTICISM, PAGANISM and STATE.
We are in a greater danger of getting a Soviet-style atheistic state than we are in danger of seeing Puritan Massachusetts rise again.

How do you know they are gay flags? Do you have to bend over to look at them? Are they handy for clean up afterwards?
Hey, isn't flag burning still legal in Philly? Just wondering.....
To: Unam Sanctam
What "victory" did they win over Christians?
Have you been to downtown Philly lately? There's a place called the "gayborhood". It's also where Christians were arrested and charged with a hate-crime for protesting peacefully at a homosexual promotion event.
In Philadelphia, the homos rule the roost.

I remember reading about that case, but I thought that the Christians did finally win in court.

What "victory" did they win over Christians? You'd better believe they consider putting up their flags during Holy Week to be a victory. I notice that they do this on Easter Sunday in Long Beach, CA, as well so that all the families have to deal with those silly little rainbow triangles on their way to Church.

They did. But it was only after some pressure from the Feds. If it were up to the homo-friendly Lynn Abraham (Philly's DA), those folks would be in jail.

I'm sorry you have to see those flags. If I had to see them I'd feel like (insert illegal act).
People on the list should know this.

Sad to say, that's they way it's in many of the large cities in America. Still picking up the pieces from the riots in the 1960's, just urban decay.

Shoot-outs on South Street!? What has become of that stretch? I went there more than a few times when I was in high school and college, and only had a problem once on the Fourth of July, about 4 years ago.

Well, I don't go there to work. I just love checking out the Museum of Art, the Mutter, and then hit my favorite cheese shop at Reading Terminal market.
Philly has its problems, but still has charm as well. It reminds me of Brooklyn circa 1975, before gentrification and mass immigration.
