LOL! Mine were always " lazy," too. Nobody ever popped out on schedule (not the doctor's schedule, at least)!

We'll keep praying away here - let us know as soon as Baby Whosis deigns to make his/her appearance...

God bless!

You're all too kind! I just saw my Ob., Dr. Something-Polish, this morning, and he said it doesn't look like I'll deliver this week (before next Friday).

Dr. Kowalski, Mrs. Chick, the generic Polish name. "STELLLLAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Baby Whosis is looking fine

Franck, we've agreed dear. Or, it's Francesca if it is a girl!

NOT in a posterior breech position like my #6 was, and we're all looking forward to the arrival around the 24th (although it could be later ...)

Thank the Lord that it's not breech! I was breech and my mom never let me forget it! Must be a "mom" thing.

Fr. Newmann sounds great. In his book "Letters to a Young Catholic," George Weigel actually uses Fr. Newmann's parish as an example of how a Mass and other worship should be conducted.

Looks great to me. Especially about the silence being indispensable.

Let's see if this works:

Jay Scott Newman was born on 6 August 1962 in Elkin, North Carolina, a small mill town in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. His parents’ families were mostly Southern Baptists and members of the Church of the Brethren, but at age 13 he became an atheist. In 1980 he matriculated at Princeton University, and there on 15 October 1981 he experienced a conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ. On 17 January 1982 he was baptized in the Episcopal Church, and on 5 November 1982 he was received into full communion with the Catholic Church and confirmed.

Father Newman studied for the priesthood at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and received priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College; he holds graduate degrees in sacred theology and canon law. He was ordained to the diaconate on 19 December 1992 at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City and to the priesthood on 10 July 1993 at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist in Charleston, South Carolina.

Father Newman has served as Catholic Chaplain to The Citadel and as pastor of St. Mark’s, Newberry; St. Boniface, Joanna; and Divine Redeemer, Hanahan. Before coming to St. Mary’s, he served at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio as Assistant Professor of Canon Law in the School of Theology and Dean of Men in the undergraduate College. He began his service as the sixteenth pastor of St. Mary’s on 28 June 2001.

Father Newman also presently serves as Director of Continuing Education for Priests and as a member of the Vocations Board in the Diocese of Charleston, as Catholic Campus Minister at Furman University, as General Secretary of the Society for Catholic Liturgy, and as a member of the Canon Law Society of America and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars. He is active in ecumenical affairs with Anglicans, Lutherans, and Baptists and is a frequent speaker at conferences focused on ecumenism.

We have a good Catholic name picked out, but are keeping it quiet so the children don't tell their grandparents. (Also, Der Prinz has been known to change his mind *after* the delivery :-).

I'll try to put on a note on *some* active Catholic thread before I leave for the hospital. Usually I have 12 hours of labor or more at home, before I decide it's TIME. The North Carolina forum will know, and the Undead Thread, if any of you drop in there.

Spare a prayer, please, for "hispanichoosier" and "Foxfire4," both expecting in the next week or so. Busy time for conservative babies, I guess; it's a shame they can't vote in November!

Three more voters in 18 years, though. That is good!

My oldest will be just a few months short of 18 in November 2008. Our state isn't likely to have a close vote on anything major (Republican for President, Democrat for Governor), but it's still annoying that she won't be able to vote!
