Exactly - and the FEC is aiding and abetting this criminality. We have
an explicit admission of guilt, just like Gore in the temples and the Clintons did in the 90's. They break the law, get caught, and think they can just gloss over it by (presumably) returning the money.
The Clintons set the precedent while they had Janet Reno and other law enforcement under their fascist control. Now these clowns think they can continue this behavior.
Are these FEC members Clinton holdovers?
Are we going to hear these laws should be ignored because "everybody does it'?
Remember how much trouble Newt Ginginch got into for his making a book deal?
Total arrogance.

Wesley Clark Will Return Payments From Speeches He should instead keep the money and be required to put out a truthful retraction of his political self-promotion.
"As required by law, I must admit that I am a retired perfumed prince, a political hack general, owned by the Clintons, whose idea of honorable warfare is to bomb civilian targets from 15,000 feet in order to demoralize the populace. Thank you very much, that will be $30,000."

No harm done, just return the money. Think it will work for Hillary, too? (sarcasm)

Whoever follows up on this and verifies that the ill-gotten funds are really returned? I'll bet no one does. My idea is that if dirty money is discovered, it goes to the campaigns of the opponents of the one who received it. The other campaigns would be sure to follow up on it!

Wesley Clark's ripples in the pool of American history are already becoming indistinct.
He's a pebble that didn't skip and is now taking a one way trip to the bottom of the pool.
To: Shermy
Actually, Weaselely Clark will get into his DeLorean Time Machine and go back into time and refuse those payments.
Of course since he is not a registered demonicRat, the law doesn't apply to him as an independent pretending to be a rat candidate.

This a great line: He's a pebble that didn't skip and is now taking a one way trip to the bottom of the pool.

...said Biersack, who added that the commission hasn't been asked to review the matter...
...because Clark is not a Republican.

If you stab someone, just because you remove the knife doesn't mean you are innocent of the crime.
The same is true for Clark's (and democRAT's and Liberal's in general) continual violation of campaign finance laws. Just because they return the money does not mean they did not commit a crime.
Why are there no prosecutions?
It appears that, just like with gun control laws, the Left intends to pass more and more laws, not enforce them, continue to cite evils 'caused' by campaign financing, and then finally claim that 'Restrictions did not work. We must ban all campaign contributions from individuals. The only real fix is total Federal control of campaigns."
