Does anyone remember how, before the election, the Democrats tried to belittle the recall by arguing that this recall was "undemocratic" because it was trying to "undo" the 2002 election" and/or the recall was "undemocratic" because it was trying to void the votes of all those who voted for Gray Davis in 2002?
Well, Arnold's vote total has now surpassed Davis' 2002 total. So much for "vast right wing conspiracies."

YES! Think I will send it to MSNBC since they keep saying Davis' totals beat out Arnold's! Thanks for giving the updated figures.

The one thing I do not get is the ten million voters. There must be a lot of asbette votes still out.

I'm convinced that pointing out that Davis actually got more votes than Arnold was the cornerstone argument of the Dems in their plans to recall the recall.
They were waiting to say, "The recall is a sham because Davis actually ganered more support than Arnold. 3.8 million voted to keep Davis in office, but only 3.4 million voted to put Arnold in. Davis actually beat Arnold by 400,000 votes, blah blah blah...."
The fact that Arnold got more votes in a crowded replacement field than Davis did on the binary recall question has really caught them off guard, IMO

What I find very encouraging is that Democrats of California could have easily voted for the recall and still had a Democrat in Bustamonte. The fact that they not only rejected Daivs, but also Busty, gives me a little hope.
Maybe....just maybe....the RATS cannot count California as a gimme anymore.

And in a three party race, if you add Mcclintock's total to Arnie's it demolishes Gray-out's total in 2002.

It's one thing to point out that Arnold got more votes than Davis did in 2002...But this e;lection had higher overall turnout.
They were totally counting on the number of "No Recall" votes being higher than the number of Arnold votes.
It looks like they'd even prepped the press to report on this, as some have erroneously done.

Yes, the "vast right wing conspiracy" is so large now that it nearly includes all the number of people the Democrats define as "rich" nowadays.

The totals for Davis in 2002 were beaten by Arnold's totals yesterday. The RATs were saying that Davis was going to have more votes in 2002 then Arnold would get in 2003 and they and MSNBC are WRONG!
Arnold now has more votes in 2003 then Davis got when he was reelected in 2002. Larger turnout in 2003 as well!

I am really enjoying this! I have been going around to liberal websites all morning and listening to liberal talk shows on the radio. Lots of crybabies out there. Lots of pissed off liberals. Even though I never thought that Arnold was qualifies enough to run a state, I'm glad he won. I get satisfaction every time liberals are defeated in this country.

It looks like they'd even prepped the press to report on this, as some have erroneously done. What a dummy. Governor Schwarzenegger was ahead of Davis early enough for next-day print and remained that way. As of this time today, he is well over 100,000 votes ahead of the "keep Davis" votes. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/997271/posts

Have you heard Dean's take on the recall? It wasn't about Davis, people were angry at the White House!?! I guess that is why 61% voted for a Republican, huh, Howie?
The left is so out of touch with the American people, it is stunning. They don't seem to understand that we are not one-worlder socialists.
To: faithincowboys
It makes me sick to see the argument, "When you add McClintock's totals to Arnold's...."
Sheesh, it could have tilted toward Davis. This just shows how splintered the Republicans were, that they couldn't pull together.

Now we will see the dems attempt the same thing.
Ofcourse, the general public will see straight through their BS.
Dems have stated that they are giving Arnold 100 days before they start a recall effort.
Dems are just running themselves into the ground. Their emotions are getting the best of them.

But don't lose sight of the fact that many of his votes were not cast for him as a Republican, but from normally die-hard Democrats who felt it OK to support Arnold because of Maria Shriver and her Democratic clan.
These supporters will not translate automatically into conservative or Republican votes during the next election.
It's a start, I suppose.
