NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Bookstore display tables give the distinct impression there is a lot of lying going on in America these days, with President George W. Bush and his top advisers portrayed as the main culprits.

Bristling with indignation at the conservative Republican president and his policies, the books by liberal commentators include: "The Lies of George W. Bush: Mastering the Politics of Deception" by David Corn, "Big Lies: The Right-Wing Propaganda Machine and How It Distorts the Truth" by Joe Conason and "Bushwhacked" by Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose.

This is rather disturbing. I just did a search of top-sellers at Amazon, and the list was dominated by Moore, Franken, Ivins, and others of their ilk, with "lies", and"lying" in several of the titles.

When Treason came out shortly after Lying History, conservatives were in the top spots. A bunch of idiots are buying this crap it seems....

Not really a biased article when you think of who publishes and sells books for the most part. If you want to se what I mean, go look up Leonard Riggio's FEC donations if you get a chance. He's the head honcho at Barnes & Noble.

Commentators of high standing, including Michael Kinsley and a reporter from the New York Times, have noted that right-wingers are producing non-fiction bestsellers at an alarming rate. Currently, five of the top 15 books on the Times list take up standard conservative topics, including the sins of the Clintons and liberal media bias. Four were written by brazen wingers, including Pat Buchanan, Peggy Noonan, the late Barbara Olson, and Bill O'Reilly (who professes neutrality but fools no one).

Apparently CNN failed to notice a lop-sided NYT bestseller list once before.
