Hey, isn't Islam The Religion Of Peace? I'm shocked, shocked, and shocked a Muslim chaplain turned out to be an enemy spy! ;-) He must have been working for peace and universal brotherhood when he betrayed our country to its enemies.

Who hired this foreign agent and recommended he be given access to his friends at Guantanamo? And who are the others? There's got to be collaborators.

"highest levels" of government made the decision to arrest Capt. Yee, who had been kept under surveillance for some time

No doubt W is seriously PO'd. And the Army is embarrassed/angry for sure. BAD career move on traitor Yee's part.

Well, they took time to build a caseload of evidence. Hopefully this will be prosecuted to the full extent under the UCMJ.

What the hell did "the Army" expect???

Oh, yeah: "If we just show these people a little kindness and understanding, they'll come around to our way of thinking."

When will Western "Liberals" and their dupes begin to realize that THESE PEOPLE WANT TO KILL US; THEY HAVE DECLARED WAR ON THE UNITED STATES AND ATTACKED US!???

The problem is based in nomenclature. We keep referring to Islam as a religion when it is truly a cult. There is a difference.

Perhaps I'm giving the Army too much credit, but I suspect they had their eye on this clown for a while, used him to track down other treasonous cretins, and then arrested him.

As for the penalty, put him in a cell with the guy who just killed the pedophile priest in Boston.

You never heard it from me, but a friend of my half-sister's boyfriend's cousin's pen pal's milkman's dog-walker's boss's mistress's hair-stylist's parakeet says that some members of the chaplain's corps are much more than just religious counselors, and are involved with a wide variety of intelligence activities, including those of non-military three-letter agencies.

Such personnel, if any exist, and you didn't hear anything from me, mind you, would often be privy to extremely rare combinations of otherwise sensitive compartmented information, and thus the compromise of said personnel could be of particularly grave and serious consequences to the security of the United States of America and its allies.

Not that I'm saying that's what's going one here, because maybe it's not, we don't know. But take a good look at the charges being discussed, and it's pretty damned obvious they want this guy well taken care of.

He'll be lucky if he only gets life out of this. Either way, he's going to be out of public view for a very long time, and starting very soon, from the looks of things. Secret military man meets secret military tribunal.

Sure, maybe he just passed along classified information that only came from interrogated prisoners at Guantanamo, and that would be very bad if he did, for sure. But this sort of proscutorial ferocity seems far more likely to be inspired by a possibly broader compromise than just the stuff the captured Al Qaeda leaders are telling us.

But like I said, you didn't hear anything from me, and I'm just speculating real loosely here, and maybe I should just keep my damn mouth shut.

The Pentagon will likely hold most of them until the war on terrorism is over.

So I guess they'll be letting them go Real Soon Now(tm). Yeah, like the war is going to end in a few months, years or generations to come.

It's such a cute thing for them to print, I just couldn't resist commenting on it.

Capt. Yee, 35, was a command chaplain for I Corps at Fort Lewis, Wash.

Fort Lewis again. Beltway sniper John Mohammed trained there, and it was in the house not far from the base that he taught John Lee Malvo to shoot a rifle.

Another jihadist with links to Fort Lewis is Semi Osman, arrested in Seattle in May 2002 for suspicion of terrorist links. According to this story, a tip from a prisoner at Guantanomo Bay figured in the Seattle investigation.

This is my favorite line from the article:

The United States classifies the detainees at Guantanamo as "enemy combatants," not prisoners of war. The Pentagon will likely hold most of them until the war on terrorism is over.

As I recall, the last time we got into a war with Islam--"we" meaning "the West" or "The forces of Christian civilization"--it lasted for several hundred years. So them boys might be in the slam for quite awhile.

The good news: The concept of treason still exists. I've been asking for two years and up to this minute I had no clue.

The bad news: Hanging appears no longer to be an option. Free room and board for life hardly seems like "punishment".

Oh this is just Great!

What in the heck?

"Army lawyers have been assigned to his defense" I'd like to hear his defense.

may also charge him later with the more serious charge of treason, Well lets hope so.

" Capt. Yee, of Chinese-American descent, was raised in New Jersey as a Christian. He studied Islam at West Point and converted to Islam and left the Army in the mid-1990s. He moved to Syria, where he underwent further religious training in traditional Islamic beliefs. He returned to the United States and re-entered the Army as an Islamic chaplain. "

This just screams he had a premeditated reason for rejoining the Army.

" government made the decision to arrest Capt. Yee, who had been kept under surveillance for some time."

Well that a little bit of good news. Maybe will they get more arrests up the food chain.

I got one question. Who set it up for him to serve at Gitmo?

...Capt. Yee was quoted as saying. "I discuss the articles of faith, what Muslims believe."

And those articles of faith for Muslims obedient to the Koran are:
1. Kill Jews and Christians wherever you find them.
2. Convert all infidels to Islam, or kill or subjugate them.
3. Await the Judgement Day when Christ will return as a Muslim and kill
any remaining Christians.

I'll give it to Capt. Yee, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Quida and the rest...
they ARE the real Muslims and they follow their faith.

"Capt. Yee, 35, was a command chaplain for I Corps at Fort Lewis, Wash. "

Didn't the lovely state of Washington give us another militant muslim in the military-- John Muhammad. When will we learn that muslims should probably not serve in the army?

"The Army dispatched him to Cuba to attend to the spiritual needs of a growing number of captured al Qaeda and members of the Taliban, a hard-line Islamic group ousted from power in Afghanistan."

F them and their "spiritual needs". The American people have safety needs, and institutional political correctness should be stopped immediately. We are at War for crying out loud.

"Capt. Yee, of Chinese-American descent, was raised in New Jersey as a Christian. He studied Islam at West Point and converted to Islam and left the Army in the mid-1990s."

NJ and Chinese-American? I just think it's great that we spent $250, 000 to turn this traitor yee into a militant Wahabbi cleric-- excellent!

"He moved to Syria, where he underwent further religious training in traditional Islamic beliefs." What no trip to Yemen? This reads like John Walker Lindh stuff-- JWL should be dead right now, not having sex with butch jihadists in jail-- something that we know he enjoys immensely!

The fact that the army let Yee do this is astounding. It also makes Gitmo look like little more than a high insecurity, American-funded madrassah.

"He returned to the United States and re-entered the Army as an Islamic chaplain. He is said to be married to a Syrian woman."

Sounds like a great candidate for the Army of None. Go Army, when will we start recruting Al Qaeda directly?

This is one of those stories that makes me believe that we don't understand the War we're fighting.

All in all, a ludicrous and maddening story. But what could I expect from an Army that gave Wesley "Ashley Wilkes" Clark four stars?

What a crying shame!

The Army has charged Capt. Yee with five offenses: sedition, aiding the enemy, spying, espionage and failure to obey a general order. The Army may also charge him later with the more serious charge of treason, which under the Uniform Code of Military Justice could be punished by a maximum sentence of life....

Capt.
It amazes me that after leaving the military and traveling to Syria of all places that he was allowed back into the military. IMHO it is very possible that he went to Syria to be further instructed in his sedition and treason and then came back to infiltrate.

If found guilty, he should be executed.

But.. but.. everyone says that the enemy is extremists and that not all muslims are extremists.
This cannot be!

Honestly, I have known a few (under five) muslims that loved THIS country and said they were Americans first and foremost.
I'd suspect that people like that in the muslim world are a rather tiny micro-minority of the whole group.
People like Yee and Al Qeada are far more of a majority than anyone thinks.
