This is a true statement, although it has nothing to do with Iraq. The biggest problem Bush has is that same proplem all radical liberal Republicans have, even those that claim to be compassionate conservatives. After their base learns that "compassionate conservative" means be as radically liberal or more so than the Democrats they manage to convince their "base" to understand there isn't any point in even going to the polls.

I suppose I'll vote for him simply because there isn't any choice during the current war. It's a sorry state of affairs.

I will vote for him because he has done one hell of a job and because he will be the republican candidate. I will line up behind any republican who wins the nomination because there is no other alternative in any other party that even can come close. All the democrats have is National Socialism.
Been a republican all my life and if republicans cant get over this in fighting they may well become the minority party. Line up behind the party. The issues can be settled later within the party.
