However, ozone is more expensive than chlorine and more difficult to handle, isn't it?
According to am ozone fact sheet I checked on the 'net . . .
"When a normal oxygen molecule (O2) absorbs ultraviolet radiation (UV) of a certain wavelength it is split into two oxygen atoms. A freed O atom can then join with another O2 molecule to form an ozone molecule."
Don't combat her intellectually. She will never admit that you won an argument. But here's what you should do:
Secretly tape her classroom lectures or discussion sections. Use a very secure microphone that you preferably hide under your shirt. Catch her most outrageous statements. Then send the tape simultaneously to both the Ombudsman at your university, who should be responsible for problems of this nature, and to conservative organizations who would just love to publicize your tape. Most of them are known here. Send it to Fox News; and if they don't use it, send it to various online news sources.
You might get her fired. At least you will get her muzzled. And all her colleagues will be equally disinclined to spout off about their politics.
Another thought is to combine your tapes with written proof of her bias. Send her emails about conservative viewpoints and see if she takes the bait and criticizes you. Or, sacrifice one midterm exam or term paper and write provide distinctly anti-environment or pro-business viewpoints. Save her critique and the poor grade she gives you and publicize that, also.
You have to play dirty. They will not debate in good faith.
My oldest who is now 22 once almost got himself suspended way back in 6th grade. The students are allowed 3 minutes to pass between classes. A couple minutes after the bell, a teacher saw my boy coming out of the boy's room and asked what he was doing not in class, to which my son responded he was coming from the bathroom. Teacher informed my son that that's what "passing period" (the three minutes btx classes) is for. My son looked her directly in the face and said, "it takes me more than three minutes to take a sh*t." I got a call from the principal and the 4 of us had a conference within an hour to discuss a suspension. I stated that in my house we call things by what they are. When the principal said they prefer the term, "using the bathroom", I pointed out that the teacher herself, in giving her account of the incident, stated he used that term and it was obviously not accepted by her as she kept at him. Much to my son's chagrin, he was allowed to finish the school day.
Years later in HS however... well, that's a different story all together.

Yes, I know, but unlike chlorine, ozone is extremely volatile, thus making it more difficult to handle. I've also read that ozone doesn't do as good of a job handling pathogens that come into the water after it's been treated. I'll have to read more on it, but my guess is that since ozone is a more unstable allotrope than O2, it breaks up quickly, and after a little while has passed, there isn't much ozone left to kill newly entering pathogens.
SUSPENDED??
If I were you, I would take that decision all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. The teacher can't make him write an opinionated essay like that in a public school.
Why Bill Clinton Was A Great President
He broadened the powers of the office of the presidency by writing more Executive Orders than any other president. Who needs the Legislative Branch when there is a take charge kind of guy like William Jefferson Blythe Clinton sitting at the desk in the Oval Office (note that despite what some people may believe, that is not the Oral Office).
He was able to push for his agenda without the opposition that a "lesser" president like George W. Bush faces. The media were Bill Clinton's lap dogs.
The Monica Lewinsky story was written for a major newsweekly magazine and then tossed into file-13. It took the free press of the internet to give the story legs. In private industry, such behavior is called sexual harassment even if it is consenusal because the senior officer holds a dominant position to the unpaid college intern. Women's rights groups campaigned furiously to get the bimbo secretaries out of the offices of America; we all know the old stereotype of old bossman who chases his secretary around the desk (or sits on his lap to take dictation and goes on business trips with him while his wife stays at home). Even evidence of multiple rapes did not turn the feminists against the Bill Clinton White House.
When Billy Clinton launched missles into Iraq on the verge of the vote regarding his impeachment (December 1998), there was no consulting with the UN or getting the support of other nations. It did manage to get the Monica story off the headlines though and it did not provoke the ire of the "anti"war movement (which has largely been the organizational efforts of the communists and anarchist-socialists who gather at anti-capitalist rallies against the WTO, G8 summits, and European McDonald's restaurants).
William Jefferson Clinton could convincingly lie, always a good trait to have when negotiating with people. Anyone who has seen the tape of Slick Willy and another man laughing at Ron Brown's funeral have seen that the 2 men are walking and having a good time. But the ever observant and media savy Slick spots a tv camera and goes from laughter to sobbing tears without missing a beat. Unfortunately for Slick, the man next to him is still having a good laugh. The name Slick Willy refers to Slick's conman tricks, not his anatomy that was ever moistened by his active libido.
The impeached Mr. Clinton was such a convincing liar that he had convinced a substantial number of supporters (possibly as high as 30%) that he did not have sex with Miss Lewinsky right up to the moment that he told them on television that he had in fact done something with her.
The whole ordeal was spun by his protective wife, the unelected co-president who tried to nationalize the entire private health care system in America, as the work of a vast right wing conspiracy. Anyone who questioned the actions or agenda of President Clinton was called a Clinton Hater and labelled a member of the VRWC. It was not considered a matter of freedom of speech and some faced harassment from Hillary's goon squads (staffed by union thugs) and IRS audits. Today it is freedom of speech to openly protest this nation on foreign soil in a time of war. We have the Clintons to thank for this, the press has seen the error of their ways and now pushes for full disclosure of unseemly business dealings and war policy. Of course, they may tire of all this investigating by the time the next Democrat is elected to the presidency.
Madeline Albright expressed fears and concern over America being the world's lone superpower. Thanks to X42, China has much needed missile technology and can work on a missile program that will allow them to target nuclear warheads at the continental U.S.. The balance of power has been tipped out of our favor.
With all due respect to the teacher who offered up this assignment, I must take issue with the notion of Bill Clinton being a great president. He failed America. He let the terrorists strike at America and American interests time and time again without any plan of resolution.
In 1993, the WTC was bombed in an attack that could have proved far deadlier than it was (the poison gas that was to kill people in the stairwells incinerated in the explosion), the buildings didn't topple as they had planned. The parties involved were given life in prison where they were able to live long enough to see/hear about the completion of their goal in 2001, just a few months into the next president's administration (the plan had been in the works for years but national security failed to prevent it). After OKC, the national security defense focused on domestic threats from the VRWC and looked at "hate groups" responsible for a non-existant "rash" of church fires. I won't go into all of the foreign and domestic attacks by Islamofascists (remember the sniper outside of the CIA building, we had a number of domestic terrorist strikes). Let me just say in conclusion, that despite my writing this essay, I do not believe that Bill Clinton was a "great president".
