[history]
September 8, 2003 -- Democratic presidential contender Joe Lieberman last night took sharp issue with front-runner Howard Dean's statement that America shouldn't "take sides" in the Middle East. "If it was thought out, it's a mistake. If it wasn't, it's very important for Howard Dean, as a candidate for president, to think before he takes positions," Lieberman told The Post.

Well, it's time (well
past time, in fact) that Dean's notorious anti-Semitism was called to public attention by one of the other dwarves, obviously.
That being said, however: it's unfortunate that the thankless task fell to Lieberman, who -- because his Jewish faith already paints him as personna non grata amongst much of the Jew-bashing Dem rank-and-file -- will (trust me on this one) find what he says rudely and roundly discounted as the attck of someone with (to use the charming lib code phrase du jour) "dual loyalties."

I didn't know about his anti-semitism. I sense he's got a screw loose. (P.S. I sympathize with your geographic tragedy. Got a sister trapped in Seattle and I'm a prisoner in LaLaLand)

Yes, democrats would know all about "dual loyalties." Must've been awkward for them to spend so many decades as dual citizens of America and the Soviet Union. And now they've wriggled into bed with the French and radical islamists, who would both be delighted by the extinction of the Israeli people and the hobbling of America. I suppose that's why the democrats only get 80% of the Jewish vote.

Idiot Dean's wife is Jewish and his children are being raised Jewish. Liberal Jewish I would assume.

"Idiot," yourself. Ask any Jew of your acquaintance sometime -- assuming there actually are any, I mean -- to explain the concept of "the self-loathing Jew" to you.
There are, shamefully, any number of prominent anti-Semites who happen to be able to claim Jewish ancestry. Noam Chomsky is one. Eric Alterman is another. You get the picture, I trust.
Jewish ancestry is no guarantee against any given individual succumbing to the societal allure of self-loathing, ultimately.
More's the pity.

2 other antisemitic Democrat challengers for the 2004 presidential ticket didn't participate in this debate:
Al Sharpton was one, Lyndon LaRouche was another.
Al was invited while Lyndon was not. And here's Al Sharpton complaining that the Democrats seem to be ashamed to be seen with him. Imagine how Lyndy feels.

My word "idiot" referred to, was aimed at Howard Dean

I saw no comma after the word "idiot", so I would assume it was not directed at you, but Dean.

I don't see any evidence that Dean is full of self-loathing - let alone "all" liberals (I hate pop psychology). The Left simply has a false idea about human nature; "We can all get along". What horseshit.

A word to Joe Lieberman: Dean is not a U.S. official.

A word to Joe Lieberman: Dean is not a U.S. official.Hello? He wants to be. He is running for president. Which is Lieberman's ENTIRE POINT: no one in national office has ever said such a thing: therefore Dean is not fit for national office. Too subtle for you?

My word "idiot" referred to, was aimed at Howard DeanSorry. My bad, then, for assuming poor punctuation (an all-too-common online failing) on your part.
I've grown increasingly flinchy on the topic of anti-Semitism -- particularly of the American liberal sort -- over the past few years. My apologies, sir.

I saw it on FR just today.

Too subtle for you? Feel better? Personally, I don't follow the eight (or is it nine?) dwarves closely enough to determine the nuances in their comments.
I'd like to think the pinhead said it because he forgot Dean doesn't hold an office anymore.
