OK who got a proposition to stop driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.... If we can get this qualified fast to stop it in it tracks till a vote.... and this would pass easy.......it just needs to restore the original driver's licenses law
The California government is out of control... California voters need to stop it now We can not look to the Feds and a Governor what ever the recall outcome....
The only one that has definitively said they would oppose this is Tom McClintock. I am not sure where Arnold stands. Bustamante, Camejo, Uberroth and Huffington all support this legislation.
... Sorry your right on that... but we do need to move fast... the one great thing in California is we do have a great set of tools in place to fight when the government is nuts...
The quickest fast path IN California is a referendum... that signers to qualify.. I believe are relatively low... an once qualified its stopped it till a vote......
The other 49 states freepper should go to the Fed and there state government.. (I believe some states will not honor California driver's licenses with this in place...)
But in California ....referendum is the surest grass roots path... we neet to fix our own mess
Several years laters, the same leaders and government conspirators passed laws making it legal for criminal illegal aliens to obtain drivers licenses.
The governments agenda here is clear.
WARNING
President Bush's home state of Texas, along with the rest of the country is being completely over run with hundreds of thousands of illlegal aliens.
The fraud and crime created by these criminals is epic.
As all these millions are choking off our system, we have no idea who these people are, where they come from or what the hell they are even doing here. The chaos created by this crisis is titanic.
All this while President Bush, and the Home Land Security Boss stand winking and nodding at this brutal destruction of our country.
I don't know how President Bush or Tom Ridge can even look the public in the eye, when we have millions of people entering our country illegally, on a routine basis, at will.
I said years ago that this invasion would grow and escalate to become the most dangerous, threatening issue facing America, and it's now a brutal reality. As our so-called leaders continue to stand by, encouraging, pandering and supporting this attack on our country and our sovereignty.
This is real, and we will lose this country if something is not done fast. Our so-called leaders, from DC to the local level must be removed and replaced with people that are not accomplices to this epic nationwide lawlessness.
.... he all ready knows... and is already out front on this .... but its grunts, signatures and Voters times .......... Its the California Assembly thats out of control
On the Fen side....Don't wait on the Fed or the high ups in the Republican party... Look what just happen in the U.S. Senate... with the Judgers.....
Our leadership wont fight there gutless..... we give them the Presidents and majority in in both the House and Senate and they still lose... they wont fight.... we need a few leaders with at least ONE BALL!... (two would be better) .... After Bush the bench thins quckley
Bingo. I will not want any Californians on my plane after this passes unless they have a valid form of ID like a US Passport. Their State identity documents will be unverifiable

Ridge Says Mexican ID Cards Flawed

Businesses and cities that accept identification cards issued by Mexico to its citizens in the United States do so at their own risk because the documents are not fraud-proof, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Wednesday.
The Mexican IDs are under review by a White House-led panel to determine if they pose a security risk and whether the cards should be accepted as proper identification.
Known as the "matricula consular," the card is issued by Mexico's consulates in the United States and shows the date of birth, a current photograph and the address of the card holder. Many of the cards have been issued to Mexicans living in the United States, including illegal immigrants.
Dozens of financial institutions accept the cards for photo identification when their holders open bank accounts. Cardholders also have been able to use them to turn on utilities, check out library books, get drivers licenses or other basic services in some communities and states.
"There seems to be some mayors and financial institutions that are accepting it. For the time being, they do at their peril," Ridge said in an interview with The Associated Press.
He said the documents are easily tampered with and falsified.
The Mexican government has made the cards more secure and has said it is continuing to improve the cards' security. But the FBI said in a recent report that the cards remain vulnerable to fraud.
Ridge's comments come as the Treasury Department is considering whether it should allow financial institutions to accept identification cards issued by foreign governments. That decision is expected soon.
Some local law enforcement officials say the cards help reduce crime against immigrants because the immigrants can put money in bank accounts, rather than carry around large amounts of cash. They also say it helps in identifying crime victims.
But anti-immigrant groups say the cards invite illegal immigration. Some in Congress have put out calls for a ban on acceptance of the cards or tighter regulation of them.
Some Latino groups are awaiting a position from the White House on the debate over the cards, which they say will be a measure of his commitment to Hispanics.
Ridge said the vulnerability of the cards to fraud is "at the heart of our concern."
"There's no way we can verify the authenticity of those cards or those people (the cardholders) are who they say they are," he said.

I doubt I could win. Better to have DHS/TSA simply reject the states documents as valid forms of ID and require all Californians to possess a valid passport. You would see this law repealed within minuets.
I don't think there's a snowball's chance of it being repealed by the legislature. Tom McClintock, on the other hand, is working on the referendum effort.
