I dunno, but let's hope there are no damaging lightning strikes to any 500kV transmission towers . . . .

So popcorn is just like corn in that regard...

Yeah, this is being posted because of its relevance to the power grid.
I got stranded in NYC and had to sleep over at Fox News (where I was interning) when the last blackout struck.
And yes... it's BREAKING, according to my nifty little Weather Bug device ;-)

"Can we somehow blame this on the President?" Sure, in fact checking the schedule I see it is Willie Greens turn to blame the PResident for something today,
Willie you are on... tell us how President Bush is destroying the power grid by using weathermen from India under the H1B (ABCDEFG HOOKED ON PHONICS WORKED FOR ME) Visa system.

Does this mean we're all gonna die? Not necessarily. But it definitely means that Iraq is a quagmire, we need more troops, you don't really care about the troops dying, the economy sucks, Bush is a jerk, all CEOs are evil, capitalism needs major restraints on it, and most importantly, we are all doomed.

Damn it, I just purchased Sunday Ticket on DSS. I hope we can last until February, i'd hate to have wasted the money. Our only hope to make your Sunday Ticket not a complete waste of money is to have Bush impeached and Pat Buchanan installed as dictator in perpetuity by the Super Bowl. Otherwise all is lost.

Hey....some of us here would enjoy a bit of a light show and nice LOUD booms. A quick downpour would also break the warm wet sponge-like huma dittity.
Bring it on, I say.

We've had several severe thunder storms in Oneida County the past month. One night it knocked the phone service out on the block, and just two days after the blackout, we lost power during another storm for about an hour and a half.
