Dear Lord, I didn't expect this!

If I can see this monitor, I'll try to explain.

About four months ago I stepped in a hole at the rig and twisted as I fell. The MRI showed that it ripped the glutous medias muscle where it attaches to the hip.
Folks, I've broken broncs, and been in bar fights and car wrecks, but I've never had pain like this in my life.
Vicodin is the only thing that touches it.

According to the orthopedists, the muscle appears to be healed, but it looks like the sciatic nerve is bound up in the scar tissue.
It's like pulling teeth to get straight answers, but I think the surgical procedure is to free the nerve and remove the bursa sack that's swollen to the size of half a cantaloupe.
I told them I didn't care if they replaced the hip if it would stop the pain.
It should be a two day hospital stay and two weeks of physical therapy.

I've always been like an old bear with a sore paw. I crawl off in a hole and fight it out by myself, and seeing all this sympathy and prayers for me is a new experience.
Words are not enough to express my gratitude.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Nana sent those pictures to me a couple of days ago when I was still at the rig. It was evening time which is always the worst for the pain.
As I was sitting there with waves of pain coming and going, I opened those pictures and got that same Logan grin I always get when I see our boy.
As always, I wanted to hug the monitor.
All of a sudden I realized the pain was gone! I don't know how to explain that, and it came back after a little while, but for the time being, I was pain free.
Our boy is a miracle, and I firmly believe he's destined to work miracles in other people's lives.
He's typical boy, by the way. He's usually too busy to be hugged.
It makes no difference. I'm going to hug him anyway.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, my friends.
I'll keep you posted as much as I can.
