"`Voters are going to be shocked when they flip the card over and they see no viable Democrat on the ballot,' said Florez, D-Fresno."

Why? There hasn't been a "viable Democrat" since Harry Truman.

Interesting question.... Do the Dems stand by Davis, and almost certainly lose? Or do they offer up another candidate hoping a different face will calm the natives?

Say Yes!!!!

I don't know, I kind of enjoy them stumbling around like they are, I don't want them to think they have a groundswell.

Oh, absolutely. After all, didn't we establish in New Jersey that the most important, overriding criteria for an election is having a choice between two major party candidates, even if one of them is dead?

The last poll I saw on the recall was 51% dump vs. 43 keep.

Of the two groups which one is most likely to go to the polls and do something? With a 67% unfavorable rating the 43% keep number has about half of the number that dislike Davis but hate the recall process more.

I also think that many of the keep voters will foul their ballots by picking a replacement.

No, no. New Jersey's candidate only looked dead. Hawaii actually had a dead dem on the ballot and she won.

I also think that many of the keep voters will foul their ballots by picking a replacement.

That is ok according to the California law.
