Wonder what the boss' reaction would be if Dowd went on a public rant against him. Let's say she wrote a column for the Wn comPost trashing her boss, saying he should resign....blah blah bitch and moan.

Would she have a job for more than long enough to pick up her stuff!!!

But then, Coulter's "revisionist view of McCarthyism" relates only to the identity of the actual smear artists--e.g., Dowd's employer--rather than to the desirability of character assassination.

Dowd's position on the latter is of course that it is routine and unobjectionable columnwriting technique for a liberal such as herself.
