There are some people who like the US paying money to terrorists, as long as it is a Republican doing it instead of Bill Clinton. I'm glad you are not one of them.

Let's make a list of how many people care what Howlin thinks.

Anyone ?

I DO. That's one. Should I do a big ping and get more names for you? Would that make you happy?

BTW, not only do I NOT care what you think, but I don't even recognize your screenname. You must really be important after only being here a few months, huh?.

Ronald Reagan was never, ever santimonious. Alan Keyes was.

I'm pretty sure PrinceLiberty was talking about politics and not personality. I'm also pretty sure Gary Bauer holds conservative political positions very similar to my own and other Christian conservatives despite the uncanny resemblance to a dwarven space alien. Believe it or not for some of us, it's not about looking good in an AF flight suit, it is about ideas.

Good point though, I for one have lost a lot of my trust for Bush, the double standard on Palestinian Terrorists is the cause. I have gone from a Rah-rah bush to a very wary standoff.

I have a hard time swallowing that the worst terrorist nest in history needs to be paid and rearmed, and the secondary targets slammed. Why do we kiss Arafat and Saudi arse? Are we so afraid of them? This is precisely the question the Saudi's and Palestinians are asking, and it is a question that should never cross their mind. They should be quaking in their boots in the crumbled remains of a deep bomb shelter, not planning their next assault in State Department granted immunity.

When the "Bush Doctrine" applys to some and not others, then what I am being told is not the truth, but a cover for other motives. I liked Bush when he said what he meant, the new Bush of the calculated lie I cannot trust.

Nobody needs a liar as a president, that simple thing converts a president into a king or a dictator. The office of President is to balance out the power of politics, to represent the people over politics. When the president has his own agenda that is kept from the people, the whole balance of power tips to an all powerful police state, precicely what we now have.

Rather a bumbling fool of a democrat in charge than a smart republican if the goal is the enslavement of the American people to a doctrine of powerful men. Democrats make lousy rulers but I would rather face a democrat than a republican over the barrel of a gun.

it is about ideas.

Oh, I know all about your "ideas." The very ones that you've never, ever had to put into action because you never win any office that would require you all to put your money where you mouth is.

It must be nice and fun there in your easy chair, criticizing people who are actually dealing with real world problems.

I understand where Gary Bauer is coming from, but I have a hard time seeing Christian Conservatives voting for Howard Dean or John Kerry

I think Bauer said that as well in the article.

Why are you attacking her personally simply because she made a comment about Gary Bauer?

I voted for Dubya In 2000, but I will not vote for him in '04 if he does not give Israel all the support that they need in their fight against Islamofascism.

Reminds me of the old Keyes threads.

"I don't like the way Keyes criticizes the President."

"Oh yeah??? Well, you're ugly!!"

Sheesh.

You seem to know a lot about my ideas and candidates which is rather odd since they haven't come up on the thread. I clearly see though you prefer the politics of personality to actual political thought.

I prefer candidates that can actually get elected so that they can implement their plans.

I see you prefer to infer that anybody who doesn't agree with you is shallow.

Enough said.

Keyes was the one most like Reagan.

All of our GOP candidates had some similarity to RWR, but none had more than GWB. He was and is "likeable."

Keyes is a fabulous orator, but unelectable, never having held elected office.

:-) IMHO this is simply a warning shot from Gary, mostly to get his name in papers.

I am pointing out the foolishness of her comment with respect to Gary Bauer.

If you believe the comment was foolish, there are better ways of addressing it than getting personal. FreeRepublic could use a whole lot less of that sort of thing, imo. People here might even start getting along.
