Sen. Hillary Clinton's memoir was not a hit with reviewers, but it seems to have helped her with voters. In the weeks since the book was released, Clinton's approval rating in New York has climbed to 57% - the highest level in seven months, a new Quinnipiac University poll found.

In a hypothetical campaign matchup, the survey also found Clinton in a dead heat with President Bush in New York, 47% to 47%. Last month, the poll had Bush narrowly edging Clinton.

The former First Lady's "Living History" was released June 9, topping already high expectations. She divulged some details of her marriage to Bill Clinton, such as her angry and tearful reaction to his sexcapade with Monica Lewinsky. But many reviewers panned the book as bland and not so revealing.

Still, "The book certainly hasn't hurt her with voters and it might have done her some good," said Maurice Carroll of the Quinnipiac Polling Institute.

Bush's job approval rating in New York stands at 52%, with 42% disapproving - solid numbers for a Republican in heavily Democratic New York, although down from his 58% and 37% ratings in late April after the Iraqi war.

With the presidential election less than 18 months away, the poll found Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.) was favored by 23% of New York Democrats, with Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) at 14% and the Rev. Al Sharpton at 11%.

Bush would edge Lieberman 49% to 43% and Kerry 48% to 43% in New York, but by a large margin - 57% to 33% - voters believe a Democrat will win the state.

I hate this state and this gives you some insight into the stupidity that it took to even put her in the Senate. She's a liar and people know it yet there are those who obviously could care less. And her husband and her were failures in the White House before if only the Republicans would be ready to call them on their fraudulant claims as to how the economy was when they entered and when they left office it was a mess.

If the polls show it as a political toss-up in New York, you've got the wrong Democrat candidate.

Also keep in mind that she is getting the maximum "good" press coverage right now. She is not going to get somehow "more popular." Also 52% of this country has a flat-out negative opinion of her. Why do we never hear that?

Most of the Hillary lovers are in or around NYC, not the rest of New York. We would love to see New York City secede but....they drain the rest of us no end!
