[history]
Hordes of quivering GOP lawmakers and vast throngs of proudly homophobic right-wing Christian Americans fell into an adorable tizzy the other day as the entire really, really big country of Canada announced it will change its law to allow full-on homosexual marriage anywhere in the whole country including Vancouver and Toronto and even "that weird province with all the gay French people."

Here's a litte bit of what I said in my email to the jerk....sure hope his email address is correct.....
what a sad little scared "homosexual" rabbit you are to write such trash. We, as "whatever title you give us," have a right to speak out against things we think are wrong. We can't do that in your opinion, if your article is any indication, but yet you can sprout off this trash and it's ok. It's journalism. But guess what? We ("whatever title you give us") will not go away and we will not shut up. And the more the homosexuals try to force us to accept their lifestyle the more we will fight it.

Thoughts for the author? Yes.
1. I feel dumber for having read this.
2. All good humor is based in truth, but there's something to be said for material that's so stupid and divorced from reality that it makes you laugh.
3. Why in the world would anybody want to go to a Cher concert?
4. "Gay or Canadian or a member of Loverboy" is redundant.
5. Aldo Nova had greatest hits? When did that happen?
6. Did I mention that I felt dumber for having read this?

Afore all of the residents of SF,denizens of Vermont and employees of Disneyworld rush north to exchange rings. Some brutal facts.
"Because these marriages were entered in another country, the "full faith and credit" clause of the Constitution does not apply to them. Instead, as a general rule, most foreign marriages historically have been respected (that is, treated as valid) for most purposes in the United States if they were validly entered in the country where the couple married under what are known as "principles of comity."
The result is:-
1.Unless they are willing to spend three years in the frozen tundra and apply for Canadian citizenship it don't
count.
2.The Defence of Marriage Act, the federal government will not treat as valid for any federal law purposes (immigration, taxes, benefits, etc.) a marriage between a same-sex couple entered in the Netherlands or Canada.
3.The recognition of many international marriages (while accepable in their own jurisdictions) are not accepted in the US, eg underage children, polygamy and same-sex marriage.
4. As Federal law supercedes state law, 1 USC Sec. 7 prevents any "progressive" states from recognizing same-sex marriages.
Therefore, the rush to SARSland remains an exercise in futility.

If ever a PROJECTILE BARF ALERT was needed this pathologically-mean-spirited spewing of hate speech and of the projected contents of the black hole that does the likes of this Brownie-Points-in-Hell "writer" for a soul surely qualifies for it. Although, as, every time he opens his mouth, does every one of evil's lickspittles -- and without relaying a single fact or a single truth, this diatribe surely reveals heaps about what ails Mr Morford. We should all be praying for the poor sick bastard.

You know as I was reading this article I thought how funny it is that he is writing the following:
Quotes: "It is a disease, this brand of spitting homophobia, a shockingly common hate-filled attitude running like liquid fire through a surprisingly large number of "patriotic" Christian Americans."
"It happens at least once every column, and a great deal more whenever I write a piece openly criticizing the president or aggressively questioning this "war" or humorously insinuating that Dick Cheney is really a deeply frightening thin-lipped glob of toxic tapioca who scares small children and makes flowers wilt and perpetually looks like he just swallowed a large dung beetle." (oh notice how he says his is "humorously insinuating" regarding Cheney).
"Maybe you thought such strains of virulent homophobia were diminishing in this country."
"Would it be fair to call these types of conservatives sexual terrorists? Is there really that great a distance separating what a religious extremist is willing to perpetrate in the name of his angry martyring God, and what an extreme homophobe might do when faced with an apparent threat to his trembling machismo, in the name of his sexually confused deity?"
"The hate mail is but a fraction, and the hissing homophobia, smaller still."
please note how many times he uses the word "homophobia." Also, see how he puts together "patriotic" Christian Americans, the tie-in with extremist, and (the big one) name of his sexually confused deity?"
this is ok cause he's a journalist? The things I read into this article as well as the other one, it this guy who lives in San Fran is pandering to the homosexual groups since they are probably the largest percentage of readers. And, he is also preparing the world to be ashamed of themselves for not accepting the homosexual lifestyle. Stirring up the natives. But guess what, he's a journalist, so that's ok. But don't you post anything to the contrary!!! No, no, no!

To: upcountryhorseman
Maybe you should consider that many are unhappy due to the efforts of people like you in your character assassination as well as attempts to deny their pursuit of happiness as far as a "lifestyle" is concerned.
A "free" country should theoretically account for various types of relationships found throughout the world's cultures and religions. The fact that the majority of American citizens follow a specific religion should not have legal bearing on those citizens who believe something else. When a majority rule passes legislation reflecting religious opinion, it's not exactly a free country anymore.
Just think, in a hundred years what might happen should a large influx of Muslim immigrants become the majority and start forcing their religious beliefs down your throat!
The bill of rights along with the separation of church and state was designed to prevent these clashes and allow everyone their own space to live their own lives as they pleased, more or less.
Seems to me that much of the conservative/liberal struggle these days is between those who wish to force their religious beliefs onto the entire population through legislation -vs- those who still believe in the original intent of the writers of the constitution and the bill of rights.
Just because one person wants to live a certain way does not mean you are compelled to follow. This is supposed to be a free country. Is it?
To: beachn4fun
This from someone who bashed Christians, conservatives, the Bush administration, and heterosexuals. Tolerant indeed.

A "free" country should theoretically account for various types of relationships found throughout the world's cultures and religions. Can you point to one historic civilization that embraced same sex marriage? Saying that the Dutch accept this now (or the Canadians) does not prove the point of "the world's cultures and religions". How long does something need to be an accepted practice to meet that criteria? One generation (25 years)?

Yeah, I noticed this from a couple of his articles. And, I realized that he (along with many other people in the world) have come to equate Christianity with tolerance.Tolerance was a label the liberals put out in order to make conservatives feel bad and keep their mouths shut.
But, if he (they) were to read the Good Word (try King James Version for example), he would realize that even though we are suppose to be compassionate, we are also suppose to reprove our brethern if they are in sin. You know, go and sin no more type of thing?
I hope to hear very soon that Rush, O'Reilly, or Hannity has taken him on to show how awful he really is. He is just as guilty of what he accuses Pro-American, Christians, conservatives of. He is just spreading fear, hate and anger in the homosexual community.
