Searching for Saddam's Stash (Cavuto)
FOX News ^ | 06/19/03 | Neil Cavuto

Edited on 04/22/2004 12:36:41 AM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Critics of the administration want answers from the administration, but it's funny how some of them didn't demand nearly as much from the United Nations. Back then it was OK to wait to find those weapons, for as long as it takes, whatever it takes.

Why?

It's amazing what critics forget. They forget that the U.N. never got a full accounting of those weapons. Saddam never gave an itemized list. He never mentioned anything about a bonfire that destroyed them, or a pit he buried them in.

I don't recall him gleefully offering up his weapons scientists. I do recall him delaying inspectors and intimidating scientists. You can do a lot when you delay and you intimidate.

It isn't amazing to me. These critics are not the sharpest pencils in the box to begin with, as they manage to prove every single day. They want to believe that the WMDs never existed -- despite what is still overwhelming evidence to the contrary -- and moreover they want to believe that Bush deliberately lied about it -- I guess because Bush badly wanted a scandal one year before running for re-election! They would much rather conclude that Bush lied about the existence of the weapons than that Saddam and his regime lied about the non-existence of these weapons.

Really, these people need professional help -- or at least a good freshman college course in basic logic. Or both.

As we all know...sigh...it's not a matter of logic. It's a barefaced attempt to conjure up something ee-vil about GWB so they can have a tallking point in the '04 campaign.

If they just keep repeating the lie long enough ("GWB lied to us about WMD")--they're convinced enough sheeple will by it.

After all, similar tactics ("the worst economy in 50 years") worked for them in '92.

Democrats resemble nothing quite so much as Pravda during the Cold War.

If they could stage/manufacture (by Bush) that stuff, they could have staged/manufactured WMD also. This administration is honest enough not to do that. Sorry, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one.

I posted this to you on June 20, and I'll post it again, "If they could stage/manufacture (by Bush) that stuff, they could have staged/manufactured WMD also. This administration is honest enough not to do that. Sorry, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one".

Well, what kind of response were you hoping for? Surely you understood that my closing with "</liberal BS>" meant what I posted was just an example of liberal BS (i.e. bullsh*t).

But, since you insisted, here's some more...

Your argument is the very reason they decided against planting any evidence of WMD. The very fact that they could have, but didn't, is supposed to make them look "honest enough not to do that."</liberal BS>

See? 'O)

I posted today in error. Sorry. You will notice I asked for that post to be pulled, and it was. You saw it before it was pulled. I thought I was reading a post from yesterday for Cavuto, but there is none -- the last was 6/20.
