OK, someone else on another website came up with a caption that will be hard to beat:

"Wow. That's quite a collection of white people!"

Your donations pay for this huge building and our over-bloated wages.

Yeah, and it does look very dog-centric. Not a cat to be seen. Bigots!

I thought these people didn't believe in having pets.

Those aren't pets, those are their domestic partners.

think I'll go order a hamburger.

I wonder where the closest Burger King is, in relation to their headquarters...it'd be fun to leave a few Whopper wrappers laying around the doorways of PETA.

Oh God, imagine the SMELL!!!

(of the people, not the dogs)

And yes, that is quite a Taj Mahal for a non profit group.

Are those (gasp!) collars and leashes that I see on their companions?? Doesn't that imply OWNERship?

Your donations pay for this huge building and our over-bloated wages.

I ran a quick Google search; they don't own the building. Or if they do, they rent out a lot of it, because there are other companies listed with that address ... besides the myriad of PETA-front organizations, that is, such as the amusing IslamicConcern.com.

My guess is they just pay a little extra to hang the sign up there. It's a pretty standard office building perk. In any case, they couldn't possibly need all that space. They just aren't that big an organization. They're like NOW: The noise they make - and the amound of free Lewinskys they get from the "mainstream" news media - are far out of proportion to their actual size.

As for high salaries, Here's their financial statement for 2002:

The majority of PETA's dedicated staff, 53 percent, earn only $15,000 to $26,000, 33 percent earn $26,001 to $36,999, and only the remaining 14 percent make more than $37,000. Our president, Ingrid Newkirk, earned $28,500 during fiscal year ending July 31, 2002.
I suppose they could by lying, but I would think most states disallow the spreading of fraudulent financial data by nonprofits. According to that page, they only took in $17 million last year. It would be so easy to nuke these freaks off the face of the earth if conservatives could ever work up a reason to care about PETA at all...
