In a conversation with NEWSWEEK, Blair spoke of his feelings since his career went up in flames: “I can’t say anything other than the fact that I feel a range of emotions including guilt, shame, sadness, betrayal, freedom and appreciation for those who have stood by me, been tough on me, and have taken the time to understand that there is a deeper story and not to believe everything they read in the newspapers.” Or so Jayson says.

and have taken the time to understand that there is a deeper story and not to believe everything they read in the newspapers.?

Perhaps that they all do it, and that management doesn't care so long as you don't get caught?

An ambitious reporter with a troubled relationship to the truth

sorry when I saw this right below the headline it was as far as I could go. If he was a conservative I doubt the term ambitious.would have been used.

Now libs that lie are just really ambitious

"Understand there was a deeper story???"

How much deeper a story is there Mr. Blair? Constant lying and making up news stories? Twisting the truth. Copying from other stories? Face it Mr. Blair, you are an adult and you knew what you were doing was wrong but you did it as long as you could get away with it. Shame on you!

What a sanctimonious little prick this guy is. I don't believe for one second that he's sorry about anything other than getting caught. A true disciple of Clinton to the last.

Ha ha ha!

How accurate is American media?
* 2383 responses

In general, U.S. coverage is fair and accurate: 13%

Jayson Blair proved what we all knew: it's not: 50%

I only trust a few outlets: 37%

Survey results tallied every 60 seconds. Live Votes reflect respondents' views and are not scientifically valid surveys.

Howell Raines didn't care, as long as any article made Bush or any member of his admin look bad!! Such is the depth of Howell's rage and hatred of any Bush. The guy is not only incompetent, but his rage has defeated him.

Yup. He's already claimed (back in a college article he wrote) that he was molested as a child. His classmates at the time didn't believe him, which is funny if you think about it--journalism students didn't believe a word Jayson said, but the muckey-mucks at one of the world's biggest newspapers did.
