The fact they are alive and can build a new life is the only payment they deserve.

Their years of butchering and raping the iraqui people should get them at a minimum a sentence on a work crew rebuilding the infrastructure...........my vote put them in the desert as examples for the next 20 years polishing the dust off those bones in the mass graves from their attrocities!

I've said it once, and I'll say it yet again....

These people understand the bottom of the boot much better than the peace sign or olive branch and dove.

We are going to have to really crack down on some of these ex-military guys or we are going to have another unfriendly force in country.

They expected prompt action, he said, in the matter-of-fact tone of someone who doesn't expect to be disobeyed.

"We couldn't do anything against American technology during the war," said Al-Lamy, referring to the U.S. missiles that made mincemeat of Iraqi anti- aircraft defenses. "But now, there's nothing between me and the U.S. soldiers on the street. Their technology won't stop me from killing them."

A smart miltary governor would have immediately taken this guy out and shot him. What kind of pissant little soldier gets his head handed to him and then DEMANDS to be paid ??

Oh wait, these are arabs .... shame does not deter them.

Is it just me or does there seem to be some serious cultural disconnect from reality with arabs ??

We should have sent out a group to arrest them for war crimes. That'd shut them up.

Our “civilized” approach to warfare doesn’t instill respect. Respect is generally instilled by fear.
The average Iraqi civilian is not so much grateful that our forces didn’t kill or maim him, nor grateful that Saddam is gone, as he views us as just the next ruler of Iraq. As such we are responsible for his needs.
There is no long tradition of democracy or individual freedom in Iraq. The tradition is of despotic rule by the strongest, and whoever rules must continually prove that strength – through fear.
