Just out of curiosity, do you know of any really conservative American newspapers, such as the WashTimes, that would print an article or column that called Blair and Bush liars?

dixie....maybe we could write Fox and ask them to do some documentaries? I'll bet there is tons of talent chomping at the bit to do them.

I'll bet there a lot who would love the challenge.

I'll see what I can do tomorrow. I've had the grandkids most of this weekend, and the brain is a little fried right now.

Frankly, I'll bet there are some Fox contributors who would do an outstanding job on a documentary. The first name that popped into mind is Mansoor Ijaz. I would love to see an entire hour, in prime time, devoted to his endeavor to hand bin Laden to Clinton on a silver platter, and how he was rebuffed. Should be must see tee vee...

I sure hope this post makes sense. lol

Makes perfect sense. LOL. The brain has to go on auto-pilot after a while with the energizer-kiddies!

Yes, I'd be excited to see a documentary on that. We just keep getting bits and pieces of it here and there. Later on, I'd like to see some documentaries on how the coalition troops worked together and their experiences. They need an opportunity to brag a bit, too!

Yes! I'd love to see a piece on the coalition troops working together. That would be most interesting.

I'm in the process of reading "The Hunt for bin Laden." Have you read that book? It's about our Special Forces in Afghanistan right after 9/11. The things that were accomplished utilizing the Northern Alliance with very few of our troops on the ground is amazing. I'd love to see a piece on that. BTW, I highly recommend the book.

By chance, I have one grandkiddie who has a holiday from school tomorrow, so I need to hit the rack. My daughter has mid-terms so it will be a fun filled week!

Thanks for the recommendation on the book, dixie. I will get it tomorrow.

And you have a great time tomorrow!

Just as you wouldn't expect Manchester United to come on all triumphalist after an FA Cup win over Kettering Town, a military victory against Iraq hardly constitutes air-punching stuff.

Interestingly enough, Manchester United wrapped up the league championship this weekend. I wonder if he'd mind a bit of air-punching about that?

One guy, very much the worse for wear, shouted proudly: "We killed far less Iraqi citizens than Saddam." In a moment of grotesque comedy, his fratboy friend misunderstood him and said defensively: "But we've only been there a few goddamn weeks!"

Texas Eagle: Hee hee heeeeeee....that is pretty funny.

Reminds me of a joke that ends - "Well, we ain't played cowboys and muslims yet."

Mario Cuomo was on tv tonight saying Bush's tax cut has cost the economy 10 million jobs-- untrue, but unchallenged! Also the tax cut Bush advocated hasn't really gone into effect yet. The $300 and $600 refunds were Democrat ideas-- if that caused the deficit (which it did not) the Dems are just as responsible as Bush.

I saw it too and was ready to kick the TV when they kept letting Mario get away with the tripe - he claimed that Bush gave us the biggest (1.6 trillion) tax cut in history and it backfired, when in fact, it hasn't even really started to kick in yet (thanks to the Dims who wanted to "phase it in, then phase it out" if they can't get it dropped first) and actually do something for the economy. He also tried to say Klinton created 20 million jobs and Bush destroyed 10 million jobs. Kilinton's jobs were created in spite of him and 90% of them were minimum wage jobs (hence the Dims infatuation with "living wages") whereas most of the jobs that "Bush lost" were on the way out because of the sorry state of the economy that Klinton left him with (cooked the books to hide it too).

Well, enough rant for now - need to go chew some nails for breakfast...

Excellent idea!!!! Of course, FOX would probably have to make them more sensation driven documentaries, since they are not feeding from the public trough. Until then, we can only depend on the occassional John Stossel special, I guess.

Dude, what's going on at The Telegraph? I've been singing their praises since they exposed Galloway. Don't tell me they're on their way to being The Guardian's sister paper.

The Telegraph is the #1 selling paper in Britain. They sell twice the papers that The Guardian does, there's no reason to swing left.

I don't know what's going on. Newspapers generally cater to their public. Afraid these insulting articles indicate there is anti-Americanism in the conservative segment of the British public who read the Telegraph.

Here's more on the Telegraph. Brits are defending the Telegraph's insults to American troops.

Exactly. His portrayal of the Iraqi troops was not only woefully ill-informed..........it's just dumb.

Most Iraqi military turned tail and ran, dumping their uniforms on the roadside to blend in with the civilian populace and avoid being slaughtered. Those who fought? Their inept leaders were tossing these starved, mistreated enlisted troops (conscripts) into meat grinders with abandon, showing shocking ineptitude in combat.

Courage, my ass. Those that ran survived. Those who were stupid.......blown to pieces.

Let's not even go into the political enforcers behind their lines who would execute an Iraqi soldier in a heartbeat if he was caught running..............

I do have difficulty taking a correspondent seriously who uses the adolescent locution "Fratboy Dim." It may well be that all of his readers recognize the disparaging reference, which will tall you how few readers he is really attempting to reach here.

The flip window dressing removed, there isn't much to this line of attack but an attempt to revise history - contrary to his assertion, the predictions of quagmire and a bloody stalemate were frequent and numerous. Now we won, and the attempt is to minimize that accomplishment and ignore the lack of dire consequences to date and focus on the difficulties of forming a new government. If these turn out to be as numerous and frequent as the predictions of quagmire and stalemate were, we haven't much to worry about, and the correspondent's story will change some more in the near future to read that he was right all along about that as well. Somebody is a little "dim" here all right, but it isn't the president, it's either the writer or his audience.

Don't get me wrong- I love Fox and understand its effectiveness! But they are dropping the ball on this…I want the "conservative" media to educate the public better!!! If the untruths prevail, Bush could easily lose in 2004.

Fox is not in business to educate the public or get Bush reelected. They are in business to sell advertising time and make a profit.

If they thought there was money to made by running documentaries they would do it, but they wouldn’t do it to advance any cause other than profit.

Right on! But, there may be more interest in honestly done documentaries than Fox realizes yet.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's probably both, including the newspaper that printed this trash.

Do you assume that Roger Ailes might prefer Bush to his Democrat rivals? Do you think that MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, The Washington Post, Newsweek, Time and The New York Times want to get Bush un-elected?

I think that FOX would be satisfying an unserved demographic if it made documentaries on the people, issues and policies that interest us. I want less Laci Peterson and more serious news.

I think they could team up with the Journal or NRO or Media Research Council (like CNN and People Magazine does-- did you catch the vicious doc on the life and times of Dick
Cheney?) and make really persuasive (inexpensive, profitable)documentaries.

I am just a frustrated viewer who ses that the liberals have a monopoly on such programming-- their bio of Cheney was nothing more than a hit piece-- where oh where is the hard look at John Kerry? Why is it that Trent Lott, Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond are synonymous with racism, but Senator Byrd is the "Parlimentarian of the Senaate" and the "Dean of the Senate"-- it's because the Liberals are much more effective at getting their narrative out. How on Earth have we Republicans become the party of segregation and racial intolerance (in the minds of far too many Americans) when nearly every famous elected racist was a Democrat?

They are running rings around us, and 60 Minutes (and its countless imitators) and other documentaries are part of the reason.

FOX network has a Dateline wannabe show, but it is unserious and more like A Current Affair-- the idiot Shephard Smith hosts it.
