Blending cardboard, spray paint, masking tape, papier-mâché, a few sandbags and four lengths of plastic pipe, Teri Forero , a Margate artist, built a 13-foot likeness of the Iraqi dictator. The statue, a replica of the one pulled to the ground by U.S. troops in Baghdad April 9, will meet the same fate later today, at WZTA's Salute the Troops concert in Miami, Forero said.
"It was the day after the statue of Saddam fell in Baghdad, and we were listening to the radio and they said it would be neat if someone could make a statue so they could do it again," said Forero, 45. "My son looked over at me and said, `Mom, you could do that.'"
