Great article. I especially like the term "Jim Snow" to describe our current system of racial apartheid. I've personally been on the bad side of these "Jim Snow" laws, and I would very much like to see them brought to an end. I'm tired of knowing for a fact that I cannot apply for a government job, because I will have so many strikes applied against me because of my race and gender that I would never qualify for the job, even if I scored %100 on every exam and test given. If that isn't racism I don't know what is, and I for one am tired of living in a racist society filled with "Jim Snow" laws.

Can anybody give me the Cliff Notes?
To: mabelkitty
Certainly. American today is a racist, apartheid state that is heavily biased against white people. The use of "affirmative action" and other legal tools has created an official structure of "Jim Snow" laws designed to "put whites in their place". Furthermore, more and more people are noticing this, and are publicly objecting to it.

I was afraid of that reaction, especially seeing that nowadays, a lot of people read read headlines. But some folks have read it -- and thought it well worth the trouble.

Actually, there aren't any Jim Snow laws, as opposed to illegal Jim Snow practices, which are forbidden by the 14th Amendment, the 1964 U.S. Civil Rights Act, and in many, if not all states, by state laws, as well.

I was afraid of that reaction, One phrase at a time mrustow, you're going to overload my brain if you keep spitting out complete sentences. I'll get to the rest of your comment later.

You are correct, and good job pointing that out. Allow me to rephrase my last statement. I for one am tired of living in a racist society where "Jim Snow" practices run rampant.
