I think Powell is going to come out of this tougher, and less moderate. Victory (two in a row) can make one grow a few inches.

Unbelievable arrogance on the part of Leslie Stahl.

It's like these other people who made them an expert, it only makes her look like a fool

But, she doesn't think she is foolish, that is what makes it hysterical reading!

Excellent point, I have been saying I am going to unsubscribe to Time magazine for years, but it is a easy read after a day's work. The article basically states just what you said about Powell, he put everything into UN and felt betrayed by Security Council and felt they did not do their duty, which of course is the truth.

Colin would be well within his rights to give this Liberal-Socialist mediot-trollop a piece of advise a *former* POTUS was once said to have offered a Lady after he'd roughed her up while gratifing himself.
..."put some ice on it," Leslie.

I loved that pic on the thread about the Iraqi troop movements out of Basra. Works here just was well.

Doom and gloom is better ratings. The only ones to prosper by this war dragging on is the press. It is in their direct interst for this thing to be the next Vietnam, as improbable as that is.

Rush is right. The 'rats are so obsessed with "getting" Bush, everyone involved in the administration is either marginalized (Powell), incompetent (Thompson), or just plain scary (Rummy) and want "bad news" no matter how "bad" to advance their cause.
A few weeks ago Rush was looking for a new name for Democrats, how about "National Socialists".

Sickening thought.

(If one good thing can be said about the UN, it is that it taught me how to spell “irrelevant.”)

As chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the first Gulf War, Secretary of State Colin Powell was the architect of the campaign to oust Iraqi forces from Kuwait. Pure BS.

"What the frig is up with the media?"Part and parcel of the media - their very nature - is to play the part of gadfly. That's all they have to sell. One thing for sure, they'd never get away with it in Baghdad!

I think he was a bit naive ... but now I think he sees it for what it is. What do you guys think?I think he's always known the truth. I think the man is a great team player who played the position he was given extremely well.
This is one of the strongest administrations I've ever seen. Each man has fit perfectly into the position and each one is fighting for our country, to pull it back from the edge, as hard as a humanbeing can fight.
I have nothing but admiration for all of them.
To: Hildy
Ditto. He really tried his best - but he didn't realize the depth of their dishonesty and anti-american tendencies.
I look at this whole thing as the "international Clinton incident" - where Clinton exposed the Left for how morally bankrupt they really are (everything is political) - now Iraq exposes the international left for how anti american they are - I mean really all France had to do was abstain at the UN - instead they are willing to support Saddam over the US. Clearly deomstrates who they are. Colin knows this now.
