Why would Stahl think she is smart enough to lock horns with Powell, when it comes to military strategy? Does she remember his war record correctly?

Yeah, but the rear is exposed. Leaving aside all the plays on words that this is begging for, the notion that a civilian like Stahl would presume not simply to ask a question: "could our rear be exposed?", but to flatly state to a former four-star General that "our rear is exposed" is so presumptiously stupid as to leave one breathless.
Does Stahl think for one second that the fact that we would have long supply lines didn't occur to our military planners? Pitiful.

The media wants to see US defeated. They want to discredit President Bush in any way they can. Most of the lame stream media are nothing more than the propaganda branch of the Democrap party. Nuff said...

It is frightening that any of these reporters think they can go toe to toe on military matters with a with a guy that has half of Powells background

You can take the man out of the military, but you can't take the military out of the man. Lesley definitely hit a nerve and was too stupid to shut up and cut her loses.
To: ejdrapes
Once again the media telling us we are bad and losing --- If we ever face a war on American soil we had better shut down ABCCNNNBCCBS - they would immediately side with the enemy and undermine our defenses.

I think Powell is going to come out of this tougher, and less moderate. He's seeing now that those very people who supported him unconditionally, are now turning their back on him. He sees the laziness of their arguments. He sees how the UN (France) stabbed him in the back. I think he was a bit naive ... but now I think he sees it for what it is. What do you guys think?

Leslie Stahl may have been hoping that Powell would have answered her questions with what she believes the State Department's secret-coded message should be, instead of him answering her like the general that he was and that he always will be.

You might laugh, but I think I detect a change in attitude since the UN hosed Powell. Powell really, truly believed the UN was on the up and up, that they were concerned about the common good, that they wouldn't lie to him. Just seeing his reaction during his speech to the UN when he presented the US evidence and his public remarks after that I get the feeling Gen. Powell now realizes what we knew all along: the UN is a sick joke populated by con men, psycopaths, and fruitloops.

Amazing arrogance. The gloom and doom crowd is always with us Glad they missed WW2. WE would have surrendered.

I think you're right-- Powell's eyes have been opened in a lot of ways.
And, we've got to keep this thread BUMPED!

Absolutely, 100% dead on! How arrogant! This would get you an F in Journalism 101. This is just the absolute worst.

Yeah, but the rear is exposed. If Bill Clinton was in charge, he might consider this good policy.
